Well it finally happened! This past Saturday we finally got to go camping for the first time this season. It was pretty iffy if it was going to happen but around 1:00 pm my husband told me to pack up and we would be able to go for at least one night. So we all packed our gear and loaded up the truck and off we went.

We ended up going to a site that we hadn’t tried out before and I have to tell you all that that was the best time ever. The kids had a blast and both commented that the next time we go camping, they want to go back there. I don’t think we’ll go this weekend as he is on call. But I think he might get next weekend off and then we could go for the entire weekend. But if not, at least we got to go once.

I am really started to get annoyed with my husband’s place of employment. For the past few weeks he has been trying to get a weekend off so we can go camping and so far this hasn’t worked out for us at all. Well yesterday his manager told him he CAN have this weekend off so I honestly thought we would be able to go camping this weekend. Well now today he informs me he might have to work this weekend. Well… this did NOT impress me one little bit. After all I had my womens briefcase packed and ready to go.

So I guess now all I can do is wait until he gets off tonight to see if we will be going camping o not. I’ll be sure to let you know.

I would really love to stop complaining about this summer heat, but I can’t. We have been experiencing a serious heat wave and it’s really starting to get on my nerves. Now this heat has crept into the night time as well so I haven’t been getting that much sleep lately. Now I’m not a big fan of sleep aids but… I honestly can’t go on like this much longer. So I think I’m going to have to look into purchasing some. I have taken sleep aids in the past and they have helped. So I think to save my sanity and the sanity of my family (I’m really grumpy when I don’t get enough sleep) I’m going to have to purchase some and take them until I can get myself turned around.

I absolutely don’t want to go to work tonight. After having an entire week off work the thoughts of heading into the building tonight does not leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling. But it’s my shift so I guess I’m going to have to go. I just hope my boss hasn’t decided to pile of lot of extra work on me like cleaning the pop displays. I’m not in the mood to do anything extra tonight. Seriously, I really only want to get in, do my shift and then come home.

As I look out my kitchen window and watch the rain pouring down, I can’t tell you how pleased I am. Although it is still quite muggy, it’s not nearly as HOT as it has been for the past couple of weeks so this is why I’m enjoying this weather. I can’t stand the extreme heat and seriously haven’t been able to get a whole lot of work done because of the heat. So today I plan on getting a lot of work done on the computer and also a lot of housework finished as well. I really wish it would rain tomorrow too, but I guess I’ll just have to be happy with one day of rain.

Well you’d swear to god that I asked the kids to write my diet plans that work articles the way they were carrying on this afternoon. I asked my daughter to wash the dishes and asked my son to fold the laundry and you should have heard the fighting. It was a far cry from the attitudes of last week. But… the thing they don’t realize is that they will be doing these things for the rest of the summer so they’d better get used to is. I just hope I don’t have to fight with them every day to do their chores.

In a months time my daughter will be turning 12 and my son will be turning 10. So I have decided that it’s about time that they start helping me around the house. So for the past week they have been doing the dishes and earlier this morning I got them to fold the laundry. Now if I could only get them to clean their rooms. They like helping me with the household chores, just not cleaning their rooms. But at least I didn’t have to do the dishes or the laundry today. This gave me extra time to clean out my bathroom. I can’t believe how much old stretch marks creams, vitamins and lotions that I ended up throwing away. But at least I don’t have to do the dishes any longer.

Yesterday I was doing some research on how to relieve joint pain. Lately I find myself with a lot of joint pain and I have to wonder if it’s just me getting older or if there is something going on with me. Right now I would like to find some effective medication and if that doesn’t work I guess I’ll have to make an appointment with my doctor. I really hope this is just signs of me getting older and not something a little more serious. But I guess time will tell.

Man… I am so ticked off at my husband’s work. Yes, he needs the job and we need the money but I really wish he would find something else even if that means taking a pay cut. So far this summer we haven’t been able to go camping because he has had to work every weekend. Then yesterday he came home and told me he probably isn’t going to get his two weeks vacation until after the kids go back to school. So that really screws us over for another week of camping. This is why I’m so ticked off! I really do hope he stands up for himself and manages to get some time off.

Since my husband was on call this weekend we weren’t able to go camping. This upset the children quite a bit. So to make up for this we took the children to our local zoo. They had a blast. We normally try to get there ever year so they can see any new animals that have arrived over the past year. We had a great time and I have to tell you all it sure beat sitting home on my computer and typing up hemorrhoidal treatment articles. My husband is going to try to get next weekend off and maybe then the kids will be able to go on that camping trip after all.
