Employment opportunity

Published by Kim under work, income

I spend a lot of time on the Internet looking for different ways to earn a little extra income for my family. Lately I have seen a lot of advertisements on the Internet for an opportunity to become a futures broker. So of course my curiosity got the better of me and I checked into the opportunity a little closer. I did discover that this type of employment  isn’t exactly what I am looking for, but I did also discover that if you did have the interest in becoming a futures broker, you can make a lot of serious cash. So although this is a great way to make money, I guess I’ll still keep looking for a way for me to earn extra income.

I am so spoiled!!

Published by Kim under blogging, family, internet income, work

A couple of years I purchased my own laptop.  The main reason for this purchase was so that I could try to find some employment on-line.  I knew that my full time job outside of the home was slowly coming to an end, so I wanted to find something on-line to supplement the income that I knew I would eventually lose.  The laptop I purchased was quite cheap and was a very basic model.  The memory on it wasn’t really good and the speed of the unit itself was quite slow.  So for the past couple of months I’ve been hinting to my husband about getting a new and more up to date laptop.  Never in a million years did I think he would purchase me one.  But he did!!

Last night he came home with a brand new laptop for me.  He told me the main reason why he purchased it for me was because I needed it for “work”.  He said he was very proud of the fact that I do work on-line and that I take my jobs very seriously.  So because of my hard work and determination, he wanted to surprise me.  And…boy did he ever!!  But, if the truth be told, I think he bought it because I am extremely spoiled. lol

Business Opportunity

Published by Kim under work

One of my dreams in life is to own my own franchise. If money was no object the franchise that I would choose to participate in would be Tim Horton’s. If your not from Canada, you probably wouldn’t recognize the name of this franchise. But, it is a coffee franchise and it is the biggest and well known coffee franchise in Canada. Everywhere you look you will see a Tim Horton’s. Matter of fact in our small town we have three. But I honestly think that if I were able to buy into one and put it up around here, I would still make lots of money. It is a well known franchise.

Things are picking up

Published by Kim under blogging, internet income, work

Just before Christmas I was starting to get a little discourage with my working from home online adventures.  It seemed like all the programs that I was involved with were starting to diminish.  I know it was a rough three months around here as far as online income was concerned.  But, after talking to several people who earn all their income online, the advised me to stick with it and sooner or later my online income would pick up again.  And I’m happy to report that it has!  After a long three months, the month of February has really started to boom.  I almost (notice I said almost) have too much work.   But, I’m not complaining and I am extremely happy to be busy again.

I guess the best part of this dry spell is that it taught me a very valuable lesson.  Not to give up, keep plugging away at it, and eventually things will get back to normal.

Doing up my taxes

Published by Kim under crafts, work

As you all know last year I started a small home crafting business. I did pretty good for just starting out and I did end up by the end of the year having a few sales. But because I did have a few sales, I now need to file income tax for this type of business. The good thing about having a home business is the fact that you can claim all sorts of deductions. So this year I will be claiming deductions on my home office space, my Internet service (advertising) and my office supplies such as ink pens. Because I have never had a home business before, this year I will go to a professional to get my taxes filed. Always better to be safe than sorry in these matters.

Changing Shops

Published by Kim under family, work

Well my husband has started looking for a new job. The company that he currently works for is a great company to get started with, but with his experience and qualifications, he knows he could probably make more money else where. One of the places that he applied to and had an interview with requires that he purchase quite a few body shop supplies if he is hired. This is a major expense and he is seriously looking at not taking the job there if he were hired. He knows there are other places around that are hiring and don’t require this kind of expense, so I think he will probably apply at those places instead.

Starting a new business

Published by Kim under work

Ever since I have started my own small home crafting business, I have been actively searching the Internet to find all the information I can that concerns running a business of any kind. I have found a lot of information concerning small business management as well as corporate business management as well. Along with the information that I acquired for my own business, I was also able to find a lot of information concerning corporate performance management as well. This information would come in handy for me if I was ever as successful as I wanted to be and ended up incorporating my business.

Almost done!!

Published by Kim under crafts, work

Yeah!  I just had to come in here and tell you all that I finally finished the front side of the doggie quilt.  Although it was not a hard quilt to make, it did take a lot of hours to cut and sew it as the entire quilt (except for the center) is made up of individual 3 inch blocks.  But, I am now so….happy that  that part of the quilt is complete.  The lady that I’m making it for is coming by today with the fabric for the back, the binding strips and the batten to go in the center.  So, once I get these materials, it won’t take me long to complete the rest of the quilt and then I will get paid for all my work.

Guess what I’m going to use the money for??  Yup, more craft supplies. lol  I just can’t get enough and since this money is completely mine, my husband can’t say a word about my craft supply addiction. lol

Quilt sample

Published by Kim under crafts, work

As most of you are aware, over the past couple of months I have been trying to get my home crafting business up and running. Everyday I get more and more accomplished and I am extremely proud of myself. I know it is a little slow going, but in the end I really believe that it will all be worth it. I have had quite a few people asking me for pictures of some of the things I have been making and I am now finally prepared to give you all a sneak peak. The picture below is of a quilt that I have just recently started that I will eventually be selling on my newest craft blog and website (that’s another post another day. LOL) This picture shows you all the basic pattern of the quilt and when it is finally completed and up for sale, I will post this and let you all know when and where. I hope you enjoy looking at my latest creation.
