It has been a long two weeks! The week before last my husband was home for a week on holidays and last week the two kids were home on March break. Needless to say, nothing has gotten done around here during that time. I wasn’t able to get a lot done on the Internet or a lot done in the house during this time. Well, I am happy to report that the family is back where they should be! My husband is at work and the kids are both in school. So I have decided that today I’m going to take a “me” day. I’m going to surf the net to find some adorable birth announcements for my niece, going to get some groceries and then just do whatever I feel like! Tomorrow I will get back on some type of routine, but for today, I’m just going to enjoy the quiet.

Well if the old saying hold true that if March comes in like a lion, then it will go out like a lamb, then we will be in for a very mild end of March. Right now we are in the middle of a nasty snowstorm. So the end of March shouldn’t be too bad. Since the weather is so crappy out there today, I have decided to not do to much of anything. Maybe I’ll just sit on my computer looking up home security systems all day. And… then again, maybe I won’t. I do have lots of housework that needs to be done so maybe it’s a good thing I’ll be stuck inside all day.

Today it kind of feels like spring may be on it’s way. It’s really sunny outside and the temperatures are above the freezing mark. I so love days like this! Maybe all this warm weather may get rid of some of this snow and then it will really feel like a sunny spring day. So… I plan on spending some time outdoors today. Nothing exciting mind you, just to clean out my car. But at least I’ll be out in the nice warm air and maybe, I’ll be able to get out of my winter funk a little bit early this year.

Normally I don’t look forward to Mondays. I work every weekend outside of the home, so not a lot of stuff gets done around here over the weekend. This means I normally have a lot of work ahead of me on Mondays. Well today doesn’t look so bad. I have a bit of blogging to do today, I need to get some groceries and I need to finish all the laundry. Other than that, it looks like I’ll have the rest of the day to myself. Who knows, maybe I’ll even have time to look up Fort Myers vacation rentals on the Internet. Well, this doesn’t happen very often so I guess I’m going to take advantage of it. I’m actually going to have a “me” day on a Monday!

So how cold are you?? I’m freezing! Right now as I sit here typing this post, it’s minus 19 degrees outside with a windchill factor of minus 28. Man… that’s cold!! It’s so cold here lately that I haven’t even been able to go outside to go for my regular walks. I really have to dig out my fitness equipment and get my little home gym set back up. I think this is going to be the only way I get some exercise over the next few days. Unless it warms up pretty soon, I really can’t see me stepping outside any time soon.

I swear my daughter is turning into a little teenager right before my eyes. And if this is a sign of things to come in the future, then I’m starting to get a little frightened. I don’t remember my oldest son having the attitude that my daughter has. People tell me it’s a girl thing and I’m really starting to believe it. She has gotten so moody lately and does a serious amount of back talking. Now normally she’s a real good kid, but her attitude these days is driving me crazy. Hopefully I won’t have to put up with another six or seven years of this, or I’m going to be completely nuts. Thankfully she’s my only girl.

I think the winter blues have finally hit me. These days I don’t want to do anything except sleep. I don’t even want to look at the new elliptical that my husband got me for Christmas. And that tells me that I really do have the winter blues as I have really wanted one of these things for a very long time. Thankfully we only have a couple of more months of winter, or I think I could be in some serious trouble. Oh well, usually the winter blues don’t last very often so hopefully this time around it doesn’t either. Until then, I guess I’ll just have to dream about spring arriving.

Yesterday the weatherman was predicting that we were going to end up with a pretty serious snowstorm. The entire area was on high alert but we didn’t get anything close to what they were calling for. I guess I don’t have to check out any panama city beach condo rentals after all now do I?? If it sounds like I’m complaining, no, I’m certainly not!! I know we will eventually get all the snow and ice that we were supposed to get yesterday, but I’m just happy that it hasn’t come yet.

The snow has come a little later this year. We just had our first snowfall of the season over the weekend. So for the past couple of days my husband and son have been slowly digging us out of this mess. If this keeps up neither one of them will have to invest in the best weight loss pills on the market these days, all they will need to do is continue to exercise. We have been seriously lucky this year compared to other years. So I’m definitely not complaining (especially since I’m not the one shoveling).

I’m seriously wondering if it isn’t time to switch insurance companies. I have been with the same company for the past seven years and up until this year have been quite happy with them. Even when I got some free insurance quotes from other companies, I have decided to stay where I’m at. Well, I’m not quite so happy any more. My company changed all their staff and I don’t find this particular group very much to my liking. Last week I asked them for a quote on my insurance on my new car, and a week later I still don’t have it. So maybe it’s time for me to shop around??
