Well, I’ve been invited once again to test for a transcription company. I really hope I do well on this test as the last one I took on ecommerce fulfillment I didn’t do very well on. I do have a couple of weeks to do this test so I plan on taking my time and doing the very best possible job. Hopefully I pass and then will be able to continue working as an independent contractor for them. Wish me luck and I will definitely let you all know how I make out.

A couple of years I attempted to set up a small home crafting business. Well this didn’t quite work out the way I wanted it to and I kind of let it go by the wayside. But, I have once again decided to get this thing up and running. I plan to devote a lot more time on the business aspect of it as opposed to the crafting aspect of it. I have learned a very important lesson over the past couple of years. It really doesn’t matter how great your product is, if people aren’t aware of you or your business you will fail right from the start. So, I have decided to do this thing right. I have been looking into business insurance and different types of advertising. I realize this doesn’t sound like much, but I feel that if I concentrate on this two areas first, I may in fact get this business back on it’s feet.
Wish me luck!
Now that my small home crafting business is up and running, I have decided to invest a little bit of money into budget software. I really feel that this software will help me keep track of sales and expenses so I can keep better track of my profits. Running this business by myself has been a real eye opener. There are so many things that I never thought of before I started this venture. But with the purchase of this software, I will be that much closer to realizing all my dreams for my home business.
To add to our household income, my husband has suggested that I might look into babysitting other people’s children. This probably wouldn’t work out very well. And, I’m going to tell you why. Yes, I really do love kids but I really don’t have the patience for them. I think I do pretty good just looking after my own. Then you have the problems of disciplining other people’s kids. Because they are not my own, I really don’t like telling other people’s children not to do things or my methods of discipline might vary from their own. And my last problem is, is that if I am watching other people’s babies, I would probably spend most of my pay on purchasing unique baby gifts for these kids. So I guess babysitting isn’t in the cards for me. I’ll just have to find something else to bring in that extra cash.
About a month ago my son and daughter decided that they wanted to start collected cans and bottles to trade in for some money. Their trying to save up the money for their treats on their camping trips. My husband and I have been giving them all our cans and bottles and now the neighbor is giving his as well. Plus when they told their grandfather what they were up to he gave them all his bottles as well. So they have a pretty good collection now. They have so many cans and bottles that there starting to take over our deck.
So today I’m going to bag and count them all up and then Monday I will take them to the recycle depot to trade in for some cash. Then the next time they go camping, they will have their own treat money. Why does it feel like I’m doing most of the work, but their getting all the money!? LOL Oh well, what money they get in bottles, is less money their father or I have to shell out to them out of our own pockets.
For a little while now I had lost the motivation to create jewelry. You would think that the money that I could possibly make from selling my handcrafted jewelry would be motivation enough, but for some reason it wasn’t. But my motivation has returned. Last week I sold two items that I had made up and now I can’t wait to start making more so I can start selling more. A friend of mine will be going to a couple of craft fairs during the summer and she has offered to take everything I can make with her to try to sell it for me. So to make sure that I (possibly) make some money this summer I need to have a lot made up. I have six weeks in which to create all of these pieces, but I ready and raring to go. So my motivation has returned. At least for now.
I have been with Project Wonderful (which is an advertising program) since January. Now this program certainly won’t make you rich, but it is a nice source of passive income if you have a blog. All you need to do is sign up your blogs and then place their ad boxes in your sidebar. Then advertisers place bids to place their ads in your ad boxes. Once you have your ads set up, you can just leave it and forget it. The minimum payout is $10.00 and they will pay you this money in your paypal account once you reach this number.
So this is my update. Although it took me four months to get to the min payout, it didn’t require any amount of extra work on my part. I did get up to the minimum payout so I went into my account and requested payout. In less than 2 hours, I received the $10.00 in my paypal account. So..they do pay and it really isn’t any work to get this income.
That has been my experience with Project Wonderful so far.
I spend a lot of time on the Internet looking for different ways to earn a little extra income for my family. Lately I have seen a lot of advertisements on the Internet for an opportunity to become a futures broker. So of course my curiosity got the better of me and I checked into the opportunity a little closer. I did discover that this type of employment isn’t exactly what I am looking for, but I did also discover that if you did have the interest in becoming a futures broker, you can make a lot of serious cash. So although this is a great way to make money, I guess I’ll still keep looking for a way for me to earn extra income.
