One of my husband’s favorite hobbies is to play poker online. He can spend hours on different sites playing his games. I really don’t mind very much as he normally plays on all the free sites, so all this really costs him is a bit of his time. Well lately he has started to get a little bored playing poker and has decided that he may like to stretch his playing areas into blackjack and other forms of gambling. So being the good little wife that I am, I have been doing a little digging on the Internet to find him the best sites where he can play at.

One of the sites that I have found is over at www.777.com. This site seems to be one of the best online for a little gaming entertainment. They offer all kinds of free games (right up our alley) as well as free downloads. Also, you are able to browse their entire selection of online gaming sites. And they offer the beginners free tutorials in all their games. So this site is perfect not only for experienced players, but for new players as well.

Yesterday I was going through all my jewelry making supplies and decided to get back into it. I haven’t really created any jewelry since before Christmas and this is one craft that I really do miss doing on. So last night after the children went to bed and my husband was sound asleep on the couch, I got out all my supplies and started to make another jewelry set. I did manage to finish a bracelet, but wasn’t able to start the necklace or earrings. I plan on doing this today. So when I do finally get this set made, I’ll be sure to pop in and let you all see what kind of magic I created. It was nice just sitting back and making jewelry last night and because of this, I plan on doing it a lot more in the future.

I am an avid reader. I think I required my love of reading as a small child from my parents who have always read books. Growing up, we never had a whole lot of money, so reading became one of my favorite pass times as it was a very inexpensive hobby to have.

My absolute favorite books are historical romance. I really don’t know why I developed an interest in the historical romance novels as opposed to regular romance novels. Perhaps the reason is because there is so much history required in telling of romances from the past. They give me an insight into how love conquered all and how relationships developed in times of hard times and wars. Whatever the reason, whenever I come across a newer artist trying to break into the litature field I always like to give them a chance.

I do have a few favorite authors that I like to read, but my favorite historical romance author of all times would be Beatrice Small. I really think I have read each and every book that she has ever published and I am always looking forward to her next publication.

I don’t know what I was thinking a few months back.  I decided that I would finally use up all my scrap pieces of yarn and make my daughter a homemade knitting afghan.  It was a great idea at the time.  But, I never realized what type of work would go into one of these and I honestly have to wonder if I’m ever going to get it done.

I usually knit in the evenings while I’m watching TV.  The particular pattern I chose was to make 70 individual blocks of six and a half inch squares.  One square (if I knit constantly) takes me a day.  Then I have to sew all the pieces together and then crochete a border.  I think when it’s finally completed it’s going to be a very funky and interesting piece.  My daughter loves it already.  But, I am still wondering if I’m ever going to see a completed product.  Then my son wants one for his bed (all boy colors) as well.  So even when I see the end of this project.  It’s really not the end.  But I have been making some progress and here are some pics so you can all see how far I have gotten.

The other day my husband went to look into our bedroom closet for something.  He then came out of the bedroom shaking his head.  He then stated that I am the worst pack rat that he has ever seen and he can’t find a thing that he is looking for because of all my “junk”.  But guess what, all my “junk” is stuff I need or want to save.  I really don’t have that much stuff.  Just a lot of crafting supplies, tons and tons of books and everything that the kids have ever made in their lifetime (so I guess 18 years of stuff). lol

So yeah, I guess you could call me a pack rat.  But everything I have I need or will need in the future.  Honest!!  How about you guys?  Who’s the pack rat in your home?  You or your significant other?

One of my favorite hobbies to do is knitting. Right now I am in the middle of making a knitted afghan for my daughter’s bed and it is really starting to come along quite nicely. After seeing me work on this particular project for a few days, my youngest son has also requested that I make him an afghan as well. Well I have started looking at different patterns to see if I can create him something that looks like it would be good for a little boys bed. After coming across one pattern which I think may work out, some of the instructions got me a little confused. One of the stitches for this particular pattern would be the “cable” stitch. The term fiber cable has come up a lot lately in my research and I thought it had to do with knitting. But, after doing a little more digging, I have discovered that it doesn’t and it is something totally different. This is a good thing as I really had no clue as to how to do this particular type of pattern. I guess I don’t have to worry about that for now.

Well I have decided to try something different with my homemade jewelry.  I have been making jewelry for a couple of months now so I have only been making some really basic pieces just to get the practice.  Now don’t get me wrong.  Although the pieces I have made are very basic, they are very pretty and I have had quite a bit of interest in my jewelry products.  But, I have decided that I really need to come out of my comfort zone and try something a little fancier.  So later today when I dig out all my beading supplies, I’m going to try a more difficult pattern.  I’m always up for a challenge and I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that this little adventure will turn out.

So wish me luck and if I manage to create something a little more difficult than what I normally do I’ll be sure to pop in here with a picture or two to show you all my work.

I don’t know if you all know this, but I am highly addicted to owning as many singing and dancing Christmas animals as I can get my hands on. Usually every year my husband will purchase me at least one to add to my collection. This year he purchased me three. The only problem with having a collection like this, is that I am running out of room to display them. So, before next Christmas I really think I am going to need to purchase some discount furniture to display all my animals. You know your addicted when you going out to purchase furniture so you have a place to show off your entire collection.

As most of you know, one of my favorite hobbies is reading.  Usually I like to read a little bit in the evenings to try to unwind after a long day with the kids.  I usually like to read historical romance novels, but if a title on a different type of novel catches my fancy then I will try to read it as well.

I didn’t realize exactly how much I do read until this past weekend.  For the past five weekends in a row we have gone camping.  One of the things that I always pack for our camping trip is a book.  While the kids are playing I will sit back with my book and just relax for a while.  So last weekend while the kids were playing and I was sitting in my chair reading, my daughter comes over to me and states that I am a bookworm.  But this is a good thing because in her eyes as she considers herself a bookworm as well.   So, as long as the worst things she calls me I guess I’m OK.
