Scary reading

Published by User ImageKim under health, general

Yesterday I was reading an article in one of our local papers about a new treatment center that our government would like to build in our area. It really scares me to think that drug addiction has gotten so bad in our area that we need a new facility for people to go to to receive mesothelioma treatment. We have only lived in this area for about eight years an it amazes me how much this area has grown up as well as how much crime has erupted. If the problem in this area is as bad as they claim it to be, then I am quite happy that they are considering a new facility. I just wish that it had never had to come down to this.

Back to normal

Published by User ImageKim under health, kids

Finally!!  After a long month both of the kids are feeling better and both are back to school today.  I was starting to get a little concerned that my daughter would not make it back to school today.  But, over the weekend with lots of rest and relaxation, she turned around.  She is 100% better today than she was this time last week and I honestly think that the worst of all these illnesses is behind us.  So, with both of them being back in school today I have a lot of work that needs to get done.  It’s quite suprising what you can’t get done when you have little people underfoot.  So today will be a day of cleaning and shopping and hopefully this trend of feeling good will continue right into the Christmas break!

Off to the doctor’s

Published by User ImageKim under health, kids

It’s been a week since my daughter was diagnosed with phenomia.  Well it doesn’t seem like she is getting better and she is still not in school.  So, I have made her a doctor’s appointment and she will be going to see him at 6:30 tonight.  Hopefully he will be able to tell me what is going on her and how we can get her better again.  On another note, since we are headed in that direction anyway, I have made an appointment for myself as well.  For the past week, I have barely had a voice, sore throat and have been running a fever on and off.  So, I figured since we will be in the building anyway, why not have him take a look at me as well and hopefully soon I will be feeling better as well.  I’ll be sure to pop by tomorrow to let you all know how her and I both make out tonight.

It’s going to be a quiet day at my house today

Published by User ImageKim under family, health

Well the kids are happy today. It is going to be a very quiet day at my house today. The reason for this is because I can’t talk. No seriously I can’t. I have laryngitis. So, if I can’t talk then I can’t yell either. So this is why they will be happy. They can pretty much do anything they want to do and all I can do is whisper at them. How much fun is that?? But, I am happy to say that my voice has nothing to do with my blogging or crafts so I will still be around and keep busy. Thankfully it’s my voice that’s gone and nothing to do with my hands! I would be so….lost!

Winter months

Published by User ImageKim under health

If your anything like me, during the long cold winter months your skin gets so cracked and dry. This is why I tend to use a lot more skin products during this time of year than I generally use during the summer months. One of my favorite products that I like to use is any made byJane Iredale. I just love the feel of these products and find them to be very helpful during this time of year. My favorite scent that I usually purchase is lavender. So, with Christmas fast approaching I have already gave my skin product list to “Santa” and hopefully Christmas morning I will have a new stash of skin products to try out.

Back to normal

Published by User ImageKim under health, kids, School

I have to say that this has been a really long week.  For the past three days I have had my youngest son home from school sick.  On Tuesday I took him to see our family doctor.  He had been coughing so bad that he was starting to throw up so I figured that he probably had either phenomena or a chest infection of some sort.  Obviously I’m not a doctor as I got the diagnosis completely wrong.  What he has is an ear infection??  He was not complaining about an ear ache at all so I would have never guessed that this was what was wrong with him.  The coughing came from the drainage in his ear going down the back of his throat and irritating it.  He got some medicine and he is now on the road to recovery.  So, he went back to school today and I have my house back.  Having him home for three days made is so I didn’t get much done, but with them both in school today I have a lot of plans of things I want to get done.

One sick, one better

Published by User ImageKim under health, kids

We had a very quiet weekend around our home this weekend.  Both Saturday and Sunday both of the kids were sick.  So with both of them not feeling good we stayed in all weekend.  Plus when they are both sick they usually stay away from one another so there isn’t as much fighting happening in our house either.  Now today my daughter is feeling better and she went to school, but my son is still under the weather so he didn’t go to school today.  So all the running around that I was suppose to do today will have to be put off until tomorrow.  Hopefully by tomorrow he will be feeling better and will be back to school.  But, if not all the errands will have to wait until he is better.

Playing it safe

Published by User ImageKim under health, general

Over the past couple of months, I have really learned how precious life can be. I now realize that you really can’t take chances with any plans that you may be considering for the future. These decisions would most certainly include obtaining some type of life insurance. Because the future is so uncertain it is most prudent for people to shop around for the best life insurance quotes and to get them as fully covered as they possibly can. This is more important for people who have a small family at home. With life’s uncertainties, it’s always best to be fully prepared.

No medical required

Published by User ImageKim under health, general

I have found that for certain people, obtaining some sort of life insurance can be a very extremely difficult task. One of the guys that my husband works with is severely overweight and no insurance company will touch him. So, I have told him about a company that I just discovered where he can get a life insurance no medical policy. The great thing about this site is that they never ask you to complete a physical, so any minor physical difficulties that you may have will not prevent you from obtaining some sort of life insurance. He has two small children and getting coverage is extremely important to him so I think this is a great option for him to look into.
