I’d love to be taller!

Published by Kim under health, life

I am only 5 feet 1 inch tall and I would love to be taller. But except for purchasing some platform shoes I don’t think my height is going to increase any time soon. Every time I see a tall woman, I get so jealous. I would love to be tall and thin like them. Other people have suggested to me that I should start wearing high heels, but there are two problems with this scenario. First of all, I’m not the type to walk around all dressed up in heels and second of all I have a very weak left ankle and past experience has taught me that wearing heels just isn’t worth the pain that I have to go through to achieve the look that I so desperately want. So, I guess I’ll have to put up with my current height and be happy that I’m at least over 5 feet tall. My mother wasn’t.

The different sides of dieting

Published by Kim under health, life

It really doesn’t surprise me why so many people are unable to loose weight. With all the different types of diets that are now marketed to these individuals, I am sure that it can get quite confusing. With all this confusion, it’s no wonder why people tend to give up on this aspect of their lives. Not only are their hundreds of different types of diet plans available, but there are also tons of diet pills available on the market as well. Choosing between ephedra diet pills or any type of other diet pill can also add to one’s confusion. So I guess the best thing to do if you are deciding to start a diet regime is to discuss all the different aspects and programs with a professional. This way you get started on the right foot and are less likely to become frustrated and give up.

Seeing Better…Looking Better

Published by Kim under health

Well it’s nearly time for my annual eye exam and because I don’t wear my glasses like I should I know that I’m going to end up needed a new prescription. The reason why I don’t wear my glasses as often as I should is because I don’t like the look of them. But with this site that I just recently discovered over at Great Discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com I am sure that I will be able to find something that I like. From this site I will be able to get any type of glasses that I require at an extremely reasonable price. One of the reasons for their really low prices is because they don’t have a really large advertising budget so they offer these savings on to the consumers. So hopefully with a better looking pair of glasses, I will wear my glasses like I should and the next time I go for an eye exam hopefully things will turn out better.

I just got some exercise

Published by Kim under health, home

Wow, I am a lot sillier than I thought.  As you know we had a major snowstorm last night and today the driveway really needed to be shoveled out.  So to be nice to my husband (I’m not going to be this nice again!) I offered to shovel out the driveway while he was at work.  I was outside for an hour and a half and barely made a dent in the driveway.  While I was out there it continued to snow, so the little bit of progress that I did make, was wasted.  So I gave up and came inside where it is nice and warm.  After listening to the radio and hearing that we are in for 10 more centimeters, I’m glad I gave up.  Now my shoulders, arms and wrists are sore.  So much for being nice. lol

T.V. Accessories

Published by Kim under health

My father-in-law just bought himself an amazing Christmas present. He bought himself a new plasma TV. Now he needs to get some TV accessories for his purchase. He is looking at purchasing a plasma lift for his TV. It’s funny how when you make a purchase such as this one, you always end up wanting to buy more items to go with it. So not only do you incur the actual expense of the product, but you also incur other expenses that end up going along with it. Oh well, it’s Christmas. So I told him to have fun shopping!!

Scary reading

Published by Kim under health, general

Yesterday I was reading an article in one of our local papers about a new treatment center that our government would like to build in our area. It really scares me to think that drug addiction has gotten so bad in our area that we need a new facility for people to go to to receive mesothelioma treatment. We have only lived in this area for about eight years an it amazes me how much this area has grown up as well as how much crime has erupted. If the problem in this area is as bad as they claim it to be, then I am quite happy that they are considering a new facility. I just wish that it had never had to come down to this.

Back to normal

Published by Kim under health, kids

Finally!!  After a long month both of the kids are feeling better and both are back to school today.  I was starting to get a little concerned that my daughter would not make it back to school today.  But, over the weekend with lots of rest and relaxation, she turned around.  She is 100% better today than she was this time last week and I honestly think that the worst of all these illnesses is behind us.  So, with both of them being back in school today I have a lot of work that needs to get done.  It’s quite suprising what you can’t get done when you have little people underfoot.  So today will be a day of cleaning and shopping and hopefully this trend of feeling good will continue right into the Christmas break!

Off to the doctor’s

Published by Kim under health, kids

It’s been a week since my daughter was diagnosed with phenomia.  Well it doesn’t seem like she is getting better and she is still not in school.  So, I have made her a doctor’s appointment and she will be going to see him at 6:30 tonight.  Hopefully he will be able to tell me what is going on her and how we can get her better again.  On another note, since we are headed in that direction anyway, I have made an appointment for myself as well.  For the past week, I have barely had a voice, sore throat and have been running a fever on and off.  So, I figured since we will be in the building anyway, why not have him take a look at me as well and hopefully soon I will be feeling better as well.  I’ll be sure to pop by tomorrow to let you all know how her and I both make out tonight.
