While we were away last night camping our neighbors had a little bit of a fire scare. Apparently last night they had a small fire in their garage. Thankfully for them, they were able to put it out quite quickly and there wasn’t much damage done. But this fire did give them a tiny bit of a fright. One of the reasons why they were so scared, is because at this point in time, they have no insurance. So they have decided to look into some insurance online to see that they are covered in case this ever happens again. To experience a fire is bad enough, but not to have insurance on your property would make this event a lot more nerve racking than it needs to be.

Last night at work I waited on a girl that I hadn’t seen in over 20 years. If she hadn’t of recognized me, I sure would have never known her. When we were in high school together, she weighed quite a bit. But over the years and a few bottles of diet pills later she took off a lot of weight. I really couldn’t believe how great she looked. It’s amazing how some people change over the years and how some people still look the same. After talking with her last night we vowed to stay in touch, and I really hope that we do.

The other day we got news that one of my friend’s husbands died on his way home from work. He had a massive heart attack on his way home from work and died before he ever got home. This was pretty scary stuff for me to hear. He had been taking diet pills that really work but apparently hadn’t started taking them early enough to make any difference. This man was only 58 so this is why this event was pretty scary. I really do feel badly for his wife, and I’m definitely keeping her in my thoughts these days.

Well my best friends son just got out of drug rehab and I have to say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen him look as good as he does today. It’s is an awful shame when kids get into this kind of trouble, but thankfully for him he has very supportive parents. As this is his third time in rehab, I’m not quite sure how this is going to turn out. But everyone who knows him is really hoping for the best. Hopefully this time the rehab took and now his mother will have one less thing to worry about.

The other night a friend of mine needed a drive home from work. And because she just works down the street from me and lives next door to me, I offered to pick her up after I was done work. Well I probably shouldn’t have done that. I got lost. Yes, I did. It was really dark and rainy out and I missed her building and ending up driving all the way down the street. When I got to my husband’s bank I realized I made a huge boo-boo and had to turn around and head back. I did find the place eventually, but a five minute drive ended up being about 20. So, I have decided that I either need to invest in a Garmin GPS system or stop offering to pick people up and drive them home.

I have a friend who currently has five kids right now. Last week they found out they are expecting baby number six. Wow I only have three and sometimes I find that I loose patience with that many. But her and her husband are quite happy about this event so I am quite happy for her as well. Last night we were talking on the phone and I started teasing her about needing to look for a bus for sale. She actually kind of liked my idea and said she was going to mention it to her husband. I really don’t know if she was kidding about this or not. But sometime next summer baby number six will arrive and then I’m pretty sure that she will be done having babies.

While I was employed at my last job, I got really close to a couple of my co-workers.  And although I don’t work there anymore and they still do, we still keep in close contact and remain really good friends.  Well here is something that my really good friend did for me over the weekend.

She knows that I can’t cook worth a darn and also knows that I LOVE chocolate marshmallow squares.  So she called me last week and said that she was making some and that she would give me a “little” pan of these squares over the weekend.  On Saturday I went down to her job to pick them up and their was an entire pan full of marshmallow squares.  This pan should last me a very long time as I’m the only one in the house who eats them.

So Sharla a BIG THANK YOU goes out to you and I just  wanted to let you know that they are DELICIOUS!!

I am very happy that my kids are so popular, but sometimes it can be a real pain. My son has been invited to two different birthday parties next weekend. This means that I need to drive him to two different places and buy two separate gifts. I was thinking about asking him to choose which one he wanted to go to but then thought about it again and figured that I would try to get him to both.

Both the parents are putting so much work into these separate parties, that I would feel bad if I didn’t allow him to attend. One of the mothers is sending out Kentucky Derby party invitations for her son. My son thought that it was so cool that he gets to attend a Kentucky Derby party that I didn’t have the heart to tell him no. So, I guess I’m off to buy a couple of birthday presents.

My best friend and I have been friends for nearly 15 years now.  Although we don’t see one another nearly enough, we do stay in constant contact with one another through e-mails and phone calls.  After one of our hour long phone calls, it got me to thinking about how much are lives are alike especially when it comes to our oldest sons.  Her son is 20 and mine is 18.  Both have gotten in a lot of trouble growing up and both have gotten in trouble with the law when they got older.  Another thing that they apparently have in common is that they both haven’t really learned from their mistakes yet.

I love my friend dearly, but it’s times like this that I really wish that we didn’t have so much in common.  I guess the good thing in all this, is that because we are both going through similar situations, we can relate to one another and we can be there for one another.  I really don’t know what I would do without her.

It always leaves me feeling great whenever I get any flowers delivered to me. This feeling arrives whether or not they are roses, carnations or any other flowers. So, to try to get more flowers delivered to me, I have told my husband about a site over at fiftyflowers.com where he can purchase all the wholesale roses that he would like. While browsing this site, I discovered that they have extremely competitive prices, a wide variety of fresh roses and a delivery services that is second to none. Not only can you purchase everything you need or want directly on their site, but with their overnight shipping practices you know that you will get your products on time and to any destination that you require. So hopefully the next time my husband goes to purchase some roses, he will remember this site and save a little money in the process.
