More Birthday parties

Published by Kim under friends, kids

I am very happy that my kids are so popular, but sometimes it can be a real pain. My son has been invited to two different birthday parties next weekend. This means that I need to drive him to two different places and buy two separate gifts. I was thinking about asking him to choose which one he wanted to go to but then thought about it again and figured that I would try to get him to both.

Both the parents are putting so much work into these separate parties, that I would feel bad if I didn’t allow him to attend. One of the mothers is sending out Kentucky Derby party invitations for her son. My son thought that it was so cool that he gets to attend a Kentucky Derby party that I didn’t have the heart to tell him no. So, I guess I’m off to buy a couple of birthday presents.

Two peas in a pod

Published by Kim under family, friends

My best friend and I have been friends for nearly 15 years now.  Although we don’t see one another nearly enough, we do stay in constant contact with one another through e-mails and phone calls.  After one of our hour long phone calls, it got me to thinking about how much are lives are alike especially when it comes to our oldest sons.  Her son is 20 and mine is 18.  Both have gotten in a lot of trouble growing up and both have gotten in trouble with the law when they got older.  Another thing that they apparently have in common is that they both haven’t really learned from their mistakes yet.

I love my friend dearly, but it’s times like this that I really wish that we didn’t have so much in common.  I guess the good thing in all this, is that because we are both going through similar situations, we can relate to one another and we can be there for one another.  I really don’t know what I would do without her.

Having Flowers Delivered

Published by Kim under family, entertainment, friends

It always leaves me feeling great whenever I get any flowers delivered to me. This feeling arrives whether or not they are roses, carnations or any other flowers. So, to try to get more flowers delivered to me, I have told my husband about a site over at fiftyflowers.com where he can purchase all the wholesale roses that he would like. While browsing this site, I discovered that they have extremely competitive prices, a wide variety of fresh roses and a delivery services that is second to none. Not only can you purchase everything you need or want directly on their site, but with their overnight shipping practices you know that you will get your products on time and to any destination that you require. So hopefully the next time my husband goes to purchase some roses, he will remember this site and save a little money in the process.

Holiday greeting cards

Published by Kim under family, entertainment, friends

With the holiday season fast approaching, it got me to think about holiday greeting cards. I usually give out Christmas cards to all my friends and family every year and this year will be no different. This is why I was quite happy to find a site over at gallerycollection.com where I can get some very personalized greeting cards. This company is Holiday Cards business company that specializes in supply consumers with very beautiful and unique holiday cards.

One neat feature that this site has to offer is that they are now affiliated with Soldiers Angels. Soldiers Angels provides aide to any person who is affiliated with the Army, Navy, Air Force and the Coast Guard. They have just donated a card to family member of any solider to send them a personalized card at this time of year and have included a blank card for the solider to be able to send their family members one in return. The Gallery Collection has an extensive supply of holiday cards and styles, because there is such a need for beautiful business greeting cards. So, if your looking for unique holiday cards, why not support a company that supports our troops.

It’s nice to be appreciated

Published by Kim under blogging, friends

As you all know I’ve been doing some mini reviews for some of my friends over at blog catalogue. Well one person’s blog that I reviewed and thoroughly enjoyed was Charlotte’s blog. Charlotte is a free lance writer and on her blog, she shares all her tips and advice to her success. Well, she appreciated my efforts so much that she dedicated an award to me. She awarded me the “thoughtful blogger award”. I honestly didn’t do these reviews to receive any compensation back, but it sure was a great feeling to know that at least one blogger appreciated all my hard work. Thank you so much Charlotte. You’ll never know in a million years how happy and appreciative I am for this!

Good friends are hard to come by

Published by Kim under crafts, friends

I don’t have a whole lot of good friends, but the ones that I do have, I have for life.  It’s not that I don’t know a lot of people or don’t get along with a lot of people, it’s just that I usually only get close to some people.  One of my friends that I don’t talk to a whole lot really came through for me today.  I called her up to give her the latest update on my husband’s mother and before I even had to ask she came right out with an offer to watch the kids if I needed her.   I was extremely touched by her generous offer.  It just goes to show you who your real friends are even when you don’t think that they are that good of friends.

Thanks are going out again.

Published by Kim under blogging, friends, Friends blogs

Gotta tell you all that this Internet business can get quite confusing and exasperating! Let me tell you of my latest adventure. Recently a blog of mine was accepted into a program but to participate in this program I needed to install a plugin from their site. I thought how hard can this be and tried to install it. Well for a computer nerd like myself, it was extremely difficult. After messing with it for a couple of days on my own, I needed to call in some re-inforcements. So, I sent out a plea for some help and Cynthia came to my rescue.

Well I gotta tell you that if this lady hadn’t come to my rescue, the frustration I was starting to feel would have probably put me in the nut house. I never thought anything could drive me crazier than my kids (lol), but the computer won this contest hands down. After many, many e-mails back and forth Cynthia put me on the right track. At one point I had my site so messed up that I was getting the dreaded “404″ error that it wasn’t even in the system. But thanks to her generosity of time and her over abundance of patience it got all sorted out.

So, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU!! to Cynthia and to beg her to never ever leave me alone with my computer again.

Saying goodbye

Published by Kim under friends

Good friends are hard to come by for me.  I don’t know why this is.  I am a very friendly and outgoing person, but when it comes to getting closer to someone else it usually takes me quite a while.  But, when I do finally develop that friendship they usually last forever.  So, this is why I am quite sad to report this, a very dear friend of mine is moving away.  It’s funny but I’ve known her and seen her around for the past three years, but it’s only been since this past year that her and I have become close.  So, close in fact that I am able to call her a very dear friend.

But, the time has come for me to say goodbye.  Her husband travels and gets transfered a lot through his job and he was transfered again.  This time they are headed out of the province and going to visit will be darn near impossible.  But, we have promised one another that we will keep in touch through e-mail and letters.  As I know that she sometimes does drop in here to see what I have to say about life, I just wanted to wish her and her family the very best and I look forward to hearing from her real soon.  Also, can’t forget my little “buddie”.  I will miss blowing flowers with him and I look forward to many, many pictures of him and his growing up years.  I hope he never forgets his “mim”.

Another new friend

Published by Kim under blogging, friends

Part of the reason why I just love the blogging scene is because I have made so many new friends after starting this.  I have had a friend for the past six and half years.  We used to work together.  I knew of her sister, but not really well.  I certainly wouldn’t have called her a friend.  But, due to the blogging world, I have gotten to know her quite well and now consider her a friend.  Her sister had mentioned that she would like to try her hand at blogging so being the nice person that I am (lol), I offered to help her get started.  So, in between e-mails from one another concerning all aspects of blogging, we have gotten to know one another really well.  So, if nothing else, I am meeting and getting to know a lot of people that I wouldn’t otherwise had had the opportunity to get to know.

My friend is moving

Published by Kim under friends

Sounds a little pathetic eh?  Well, you have to know me and know how hard it is to make friends.  I don’t have a whole lot of friends, but the ones that I do have I usually keep for life.  One of the other mothers down at the bus stop and I have become really good friends.  It took a while to develop this friendship.  This is why I am sad that she is leaving.  But, unfortunately in her husband’s line of work, they move around a lot.   But, at least we can still keep in touch via the Internet.  And who knows, like she says, maybe he will get transfered back.  But, until that happens, I would like to wish her all the good luck and happiness she can find at her new location.  And, I look forward to lots of e-mails and pictures of the kids especially of my little buddie “Blakie”.
