After two weeks of having at least one person home sick I am finally able to post that I am home by myself. When I have extra people under foot I can’t get a thing done. And let me tell you folks, by looking at my house right now you can tell that’s a true statement. But with them all back to school and work I have been able to get a lot accomplished today. Hopefully this is the end of the sicknesses in our house and we can all concentrate on getting life back to normal. And on a good note, I was not sick once during all this illness in my home.

Well I guess this flue really does take a hold of people. Yesterday my husband stayed home from work sick and today he came home about an hour after he left. I think he might of gotten this flue back due to the fact that we lost our power for 33 hours last week due to a wind storm. He doesn’t look too bad today so hopefully with a couple of days of rest he’ll be back to his normal healthy self. Hopefully this is the end of the illnesses in our house and we can soon get back to normal every day living.
On Friday we got a new puppy. We (I mean I) named him Henry. Well when the kids got home from school and discovered that we have a new addition to the family they went nuts. He did too. But… he seems to have taken to my daughter. When she’s home he is with her constantly. She takes him for walks and doesn’t even mind being on “poo patrol”. My son enjoys him too, but hasn’t really taken to him like my daughter. So when she’s home he’s her dog and when she’s not, I guess you could call him mine. But I don’t really care. As long as the kids and the puppy are happy, that’s all that matters.
Yay! We are going to have a great Easter dinner and the very best part…. I don’t have to cook! My father in law called last night and invited us up for Easter dinner so it looks like we will get a real good meal and I don’t have to slave over a hot stove to do it. I really wish I had of known of this invitation a little earlier. Had I known, I would have ordered him some of those cao cigars that he seems to enjoy and took them with us. But I didn’t so I guess I’ll just stop into a store and get a pie or some type of cake. I don’t mind buying the dessert as long as it means I don’t have to cook the main supper. I don’t know if you’ve figured this out yet, but I can’t cook and don’t enjoy cooking. So someone cooking for me, is a real bonus and you can all bet that I’m really going to enjoy it.
I honestly don’t know how married folks that stay home together 24/7 last. For the past three weeks now I have had my husband home from work and let me tell you all that I’ve come pretty close to strangling him (no not really but you get the picture). For two weeks he was sick and now for the past week he has been home on holidays. That is a lot of time together. And although I love him very much, I also love my me time as well. But I think the end is in sight. On Monday he will be headed back to work and I will finally get the break I’ve been longing for. But… you never know so on Monday I’ll let you all know if all my dreams have come true and if I’m still a married lady.
It’s been almost two weeks and my husband is still sick. He missed an entire week of work and went back to work this morning only to be sent back home. He thinks he has the flue so he is resisting going to the doctor but in all honesty I think it’s a little more serious than that as he is throwing up every morning and is exhausted every day. But if he won’t go to the doctor then there is really not much I can do for him. About a month ago he purchased some hex head bolts to start a major project at home but since he hasn’t been feeling well he hasn’t even begun to start the project. At this point I really don’t care if he starts any projects or even goes to work, I would just like to know what’s going on with his health and for him to get better. But don’t worry folks if this continues on for any length of time I will start nagging and hopefully he will go to the doctor. There’s not much else I can do.
First I came down sick with the flue (for the first time in five years) and now both my husband and my youngest son are home sick with the flue. So it’s been really fun in my house these past couple of weeks (not). I had quite a few plans on getting things done here around the house but with two sick people home for the past couple of days not much of this work has been getting completed. Oh I have been able to get a bit of my tillman gloves articles wrote but as far as any housework getting done, nope that hasn’t happened. They have been sleeping quite a bit of these past couple of days so I am really trying to be very quiet in the activities I do. I think they are both feeling a bit better so hopefully they will get back to their normal routines soon and that will mean that I will be able to get back to mine soon as well.
What a busy week! Today is my daughter’s 13th birthday and tomorrow is my son’s 11th birthday. We are having a small celebration for them both tonight. I already handed out the birthday party invitations, no need for baby announcements from invitationbox.com for this family. And the cake and presents have been bought. And… I have two pretty excited kids on my hands. So later on tonight we will all be celebrating these two very special birthdays.
In less than two weeks my husband and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. We have been together for over 17 years but have only been married for ten. I have asked my husband for some scott kay jewelry but he hasn’t indicated if he has been looking in that direction or not. But…. knowing my husband even if he doesn’t get me what I ask for, I’m sure he’ll still get me something pretty cool. I can’t wait until July 27th so we can both celebrate this wonderful day in style.
Although I’m not nearly done all my computer work that is due this week, we have decided to go away for a few days and take the kids camping. So this means that I won’t be doing any research in my oxford english dictionary, won’t be on my computer or won’t be doing any type of work what so ever. I plan on enjoying my time with the family and worry about work when we get back.
