Today the children and I are going to create a gingerbread house. They have been looking forward to this day since the day that we purchased the kit. But knowing my two kids, I am going to have to have a lot of wipes on hand to clean up the never ending mess. I honestly believe that one of the reasons why they enjoy doing stuff like this is because of the mess. You would think that having a 9 and 7 year old in the house that I would have been able to stop buying these wipes, but unfortunately this is not the case.

This past month I got involved in making some pieces of homemade jewelry. Although the pieces don’t look quite as professional as some pieces of costume jewelry that I have seen, I still think I did pretty good for my first attempts. So tomorrow I am going to participate in my very first craft fair. I am going to try to sell the pieces that I have created. I don’t have much inventory ready for the sale but I do have enough to determine if this type of crafting will be profitable for me. After tomorrow’s sale, I will definitely let you all know how I make out and if I will continue to make some homemade jewelry in the future.

As most of you know, I have been slowly trying to get my home crafting business up and running. It’s been a slow process, but things are finally starting to come together. I started a new website and blog over at Simply Crafting where I display my products and crafts that I currently have for sale or have sold. So far I have made and sold a quilt and now I have several pieces of jewelry on the site as well. Below you will see just an example of some of the products that I have on sale over at this site.

If there is anything here you are interested in or anything that is listed for sale over at Simply Crafting that suits your fancy, just let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Yeah! I just had to come in here and tell you all that I finally finished the front side of the doggie quilt. Although it was not a hard quilt to make, it did take a lot of hours to cut and sew it as the entire quilt (except for the center) is made up of individual 3 inch blocks. But, I am now so….happy that that part of the quilt is complete. The lady that I’m making it for is coming by today with the fabric for the back, the binding strips and the batten to go in the center. So, once I get these materials, it won’t take me long to complete the rest of the quilt and then I will get paid for all my work.
Guess what I’m going to use the money for?? Yup, more craft supplies. lol I just can’t get enough and since this money is completely mine, my husband can’t say a word about my craft supply addiction. lol

Well, I have my fingers crossed today that today will be the day that I finally finish my “Doggie Quilt”. This project has not taken me as long as previous quilting projects. It’s a pretty easy project to do as there is one huge square of doggies in the middle and then all I did was cut up six different colors of fabric into squares to go around the edge. Right now all I have left to do is sew two more rounds of squares, put the quilting batten in the quilt and then throw on the back. I’m not a fan of dark colors, but I have to say that now that I am looking at pretty much the finished product, this quilt does look amazing.
So, with this project almost complete, I will then be able to move on to something different. I’m pretty sure the next couple of projects that I will be working on will be homemade jewelry and a knitted afghan. And, of course, I will give you all a sneak peak of these two projects over at Simply Crafting and when these two projects are completed they will also be on sale over at this site as well.

OK guys. This will be the final and last time that I ask for your votes in my scrapbooking contest. There are only two days left to vote so I am asking if you could all go in just one more time and place your votes. Right now I am in second place and if that’s where I end up that’s OK, but if you continue to give me your votes, I have a really good chance at winning first prize. So, with only two days left until the voting ends, I am asking you all for your support this one last time.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you have have help me out with this during the past couple of weeks and whether I win or lose, I am thankful to you all!

As most of you are aware, over the past couple of months I have been trying to get my home crafting business up and running. Everyday I get more and more accomplished and I am extremely proud of myself. I know it is a little slow going, but in the end I really believe that it will all be worth it. I have had quite a few people asking me for pictures of some of the things I have been making and I am now finally prepared to give you all a sneak peak. The picture below is of a quilt that I have just recently started that I will eventually be selling on my newest craft blog and website (that’s another post another day. LOL) This picture shows you all the basic pattern of the quilt and when it is finally completed and up for sale, I will post this and let you all know when and where. I hope you enjoy looking at my latest creation.

Well it’s getting down to the wire here folks. Yes, I am talking about the scrapbooking contest that I entered over at Christine Murphy’s around the first of the month. During the past month I have posted for pleas of votes and yes, I am doing it again. If you could pop on over to Christine’s blog and place a VOTE FOR KIM I would really, really appreciate it. You only have to vote the once, but if you’d like you can go in everyday and vote until October 31.
Every vote counts so even if you only get in the once to vote, I would really, really appreciate it!
