Normally I work 8:30 to 2:00 every Saturday and Sunday. Well, not this weekend. I had to book the entire weekend off from my job as my husband needed to complete his first aid and CPR training this weekend for his job. Because this was an all weekend type of thing, it just wasn’t possible for me to go to work and take the children for that length of time. It was a nice break, but I kind of miss it. Oh well, I’ll be back on track next weekend and be where I think I should be on the weekends.

We are a little late in doing this this year, but with all the nice weather we have been having this fall, it’s been a little difficult to envision all the white snow that will soon be piled upon us. But with this being almost the end of November, I think it’s time to get ready for the white stuff. The first thing I’ve got to do is find an inexpensive motorhome towing company to move my trailer to storage for the winter. The next thing I need to do would be to sell my old car that is in the driveway to clear up space. If I can remove these two large vehicles out of the yard, we will then have room for all our other stuff as well as a lot of room to pile up all the snow when the time comes. Now all I have to do is to get on the ball.

On Friday both the children will be bringing home their first report cards of the year. I’m pretty sure both will do really well and there won’t be too many surprises. I have been talking with my son’s teacher a bit this year and he is doing really well in his marks. He has to calm down on his socializing, but other than that, he is doing really well. I am able to go online to my daughter’s school to see her marks and right now she is sitting with high honors. So she is doing really well as well. So it looks like I’m going to have to run out and buy a couple of small presents to reward the children for all their efforts.

I’m seriously wondering if it isn’t time to switch insurance companies. I have been with the same company for the past seven years and up until this year have been quite happy with them. Even when I got some free insurance quotes from other companies, I have decided to stay where I’m at. Well, I’m not quite so happy any more. My company changed all their staff and I don’t find this particular group very much to my liking. Last week I asked them for a quote on my insurance on my new car, and a week later I still don’t have it. So maybe it’s time for me to shop around??

During the month of October my husband was awarded the safety employee of the month award. This is something new that they are doing with his company and he was the first employee to receive this award. Apparently they look at things like proper use of safety products , and the fact that he’s been employed there for over 11 years with absolutely no accidents. And the best part of this award was the cash bonus he received in his paycheck! So I guess it pays to work safe not only for your health, but for your pocket book as well.

I think this is quite ironic. This is the week that my daughter’s school is playing a serious emphasis on bullying and this just happens to be the week that she is experiencing a lot of bullying. One of the boys in her grade 6 class said something to her the other day that was highly inappropriate. She is only 11 and wasn’t really impressed to hear that a boy (who’s 11) wants to have sex with her. This upset her quite a bit. But the teacher’s are aware of the situation and have taken steps to stop this kind of behavior and talk. I just wish that she didn’t have to be exposed to that kind of thing and let me tell you if it ever happens again, the school and these kids parents will not want to hear from me or her father.

I can’t believe the kind of weather we have been having lately. It’s almost like it’s spring out instead of almost winter. This is great weather for me as usually during this time of year I go through a lot of acne products due to the dry and cold temps. But because of the nice weather I haven’t been having the acne problems that I normally have. Plus it’s so warm out that I still get to spend quite a bit of time outside these days. So I am going to continue to enjoy this nice weather for as long as we have it. I’ll worry more about winter when it arrives.
