One of my cousins called me last night quite excited. Her and her husband are planning on going on their very first ski vacation. Now I am happy for her and excited for her, but it’s a little difficult for me to get excited about a ski vacation as I live in Eastern Canada and we get way to much snow for my liking. A ski vacation would certainly not be on my list of things to do. But since she lives in California, I guess I can understand her excitement. Now if she told me she was going on a cruise, I could probably get a little more excited about it for her. LOL
For the past few months, I have not really gotten very serious with all my blogging. I don’t know if this is because life got busy for a while, if I have too many blogs on the go, or if I’m starting to get bored after three years of blogging. But, I’m back to some serious blogging once again. I have made a conscious effort to start blogging more and promoting all my blogs more as well. So over the next little while you should see more posts on Dansko, my kids or anything in life that I find amusing. After slacking (yes, I said it) off for a while, I am pretty stoked to get back into things. So if there is anything you’d like to hear about or would like to comment on any or all posts, I would truly love to hear from you.
As you all know, my daughter is now in middle school. Man… I really have to wonder where all the time has gone. She is really enjoying herself at her new school and is seriously enjoying all the new challenges that have come her way. Well yesterday she came home from school talking about the first school dance. Her father is really not pleased about this. After all she is only 11 and will be attending the dance with 13 and 14 year olds. He probably will end up letting her go, but he really doesn’t want to. What’s next?? Will she start talking about weight loss pills, acne and make up next? Man…. kids grow up so fast these days.
Currently I work as a waitress at a very busy family restaurant. Although I absolutely love my job, physically I am finding that it’s starting to get very difficult. The long hours as well as the fact that I never get to sit down, is finally taking a toll on me. I do have a marketing diploma and have been considering trying to find a job in that field. One area that I would love to get into would be to become a business plan writer. I have all the training for this type of career, I just don’t have the experience needed.
Like I said, I’m just starting to consider my options. Who knows where I’ll end up in the next five to ten years. But it sure is fun to dream now isn’t it??
About a year ago I started a quilt for my daughter. And can you believe this??? I have not finished it! Yesterday I started cleaning out my craft room and my eyes fell on the quilt. So I have got it in my head once again that I really have to finish this thing for her. I hope to have it all completed for her by Christmas and then get cracking on making one for my son by next Christmas. Hopefully these thoughts aren’t just good ideas and I end up finishing it. My children would be so happy with me if I did. So this does give me the motivation I need to complete at least one before this Christmas.
I do really love the Thanksgiving holiday and all that goes with it. Well, maybe except for one thing. The mess! I am the one that has to cook the big meal and I am also the one that has to clean up the big mess. After yesterday’s meal I just wanted to participate in some Myrtle beach golf instead of dealing with the mess that was in front of me. But since no one else in my house was going to do the work I buckled down and got it done. I know what I’m going to ask Santa for Christmas. Either a dishwasher or a family who will help not only eat the meal but clean up the mess afterward.
You know the school year is finally in session when my kids have me running around for them like crazy. Well this has finally started to happen so I guess my kids are officially back to school. I do the most running around for my daughter and this year seems to be no exception. If it was up to her, I’d be running her here there and everywhere every day. With a child so active in so many activities, I really don’t need a fat burner of any kind as all this running leaves me very little time to do anything else like eating for instance. Thankfully my son has not gotten involved in so much stuff. At least this way I will have a little bit of time for myself and the activities that I’m involved in.
