I honestly can’t tell you all about how happy I will be once this winter season is fast behind us. Although we haven’t had as much snow this year as last year, we have had to deal with a lot of “little” storms and some brutally cold temperatures. Last night we got hit with another storm. Although we didn’t get a great deal of snow, we did get a lot of freezing rain and ice pellets. This made the roads extremely dangerous to drive on. So once again the kids have an unscheduled day off from school.

Man…I can’t wait until this weather is behind us.

I’m starting to think that I need to invest in some coffee franchises just so that I can get a decent cup of coffee when I order it. On Saturday I stopped into my local coffee shop like I always do on my way to work. I was the only one in the drive in and then ordered my double cream (see, no sugar). Well when I got to my work and opened my coffee, there was sugar in it. So, I ended up paying for a coffee that I couldn’t drink. Now normally I wouldn’t say too much about this, but this type of thing is happening a lot lately and I’m really getting tired of paying for coffee and then having to throw it out. I have talked to the manager in the past, but all I have been told is to bring it back and they will give me a new one. Well guess what?! When I’m at work I really can’t take it back now can I?? To say I was not impressed is putting it mildly.

I really have to wonder where the last ten years have gone. Ten years ago my little girl was born and now is in grade 5 and headed off to middle school next year. It hit me a bit hard last night when I realized this. She came home from school with her paperwork to enter middle school next year and it really made me think. I guess it won’t be too much longer before she will be talking about boys and asking us to buy her ipods or cell phones. Honestly, it doesn’t take them very long to grow up now does it??

Well she is looking forward to her middle school adventures, but I can honestly tell you that her father and I are not. I don’t know maybe it’s because she’s a little girl and seems to be growing up right in front of our eyes. Or maybe it’s because she is getting older which means I’m getting older. Well, next year will be here before we know it, and our little girl will be headed off to middle school with a smile on her face.

Yes, I know I rant and rave about the children in here, but I really have to give credit when credit is due. My kids really do enjoy helping people out whenever they can. And this is why I think that they are the best.

Last night we were hit with a major snowstorm in our area. So early in the evening my youngest son and my husband went outside to shovel the driveway. Well my husband hooked up the snow blower and my little guy (who’s eight) hauled out the shovel and they got to work. Well after they were done our driveway, they went down the street to an elderly couples yard and shoveled their driveway as well.

Well my little guy was quite proud of himself for helping out the neighbors. And I was quite proud of him as well.

Because I’ve had my husband home all week I haven’t had a lot of time to spend on the Internet. I have found that when he’s home it’s just easier to stay off the computer and go clean some of the rooms in the house. As long as I’m cleaning, he tends to leave me alone. Well one of the rooms that I was able to tackle this past week, was the bathroom.

I cleaned out all the cupboards and the closet. Well I have to tell you all that I was pretty amazed at all the stuff that I ended up throwing out. I threw out old diet pills bottles that my husband had given up on, old makeup that’s been in my home for several years now as well as some old towels that have seen better days. I can’t believe how much room is in the bathroom now and I seriously wish I had done this years ago. Now I get to go replace all the things I threw out.

I am an avid reader. I think I required my love of reading as a small child from my parents who have always read books. Growing up, we never had a whole lot of money, so reading became one of my favorite pass times as it was a very inexpensive hobby to have.

My absolute favorite books are historical romance. I really don’t know why I developed an interest in the historical romance novels as opposed to regular romance novels. Perhaps the reason is because there is so much history required in telling of romances from the past. They give me an insight into how love conquered all and how relationships developed in times of hard times and wars. Whatever the reason, whenever I come across a newer artist trying to break into the litature field I always like to give them a chance.

I do have a few favorite authors that I like to read, but my favorite historical romance author of all times would be Beatrice Small. I really think I have read each and every book that she has ever published and I am always looking forward to her next publication.

Excuse me while I go on a little “rant” here. I don’t normally rant and rave on this blog, but something has come to my attention that I really felt like I needed to post about. And that would be the number of bloggers that I have come across that are putting down other bloggers for doing paid posting.

First and foremost I would like to ask the question. Who the he– do you think you are?? What I do on my own blog that I pay for is really none of your business. Just because I do paid blogging does not make me any less of a blogger than you. One comment on one blog in particular (no I can’t remember where I seen it) really got my blood boiling. They claimed that when they go into a blog and they see a disclosure policy or a disclosure link, they automatically log out.

I can’t speak for every other blogger out there, but for my own blogs, not every post is paid. But some are. After all I have hosting fees and domain name fees as well. So what if I take a little cash for some of these posts. They are all still my own thoughts, opinions and views. So the next time you pop into any one’s blog which displays “I disclose”, please don’t be so quick to judge. By all means take a look around and give them a chance to show that they are just as good as you.

End of rant. Now on to your day…

I would have to say that one of the best gifts that I like to receive is gift cards. Yes, other gifts are nice too, but with a gift card you can pick what you really want to buy. Well this year each one of us in our family got a gift card from my father in law and his wife. Well my husband used his yesterday for some “unmentionables”. Yeah, I know not a very exciting gift, but it was for stuff he really needed. I have plans to buy myself a new pair of sneakers. I haven’t bought a new pair in about ten years so I think the time has come. And the two kids plan on buying video games with theirs. So gift cards don’t go to waste and if it wasn’t for the gift card I still wouldn’t be getting a new pair of sneakers.

A couple of months ago I switched hosts from Bluehost to Hostgator. I moved all my blogs onto the Hostgator account. But, I did leave all my domain names with Bluehost. I have found them to be the best for the money as far as the domain names. Well last week I contacted them because I want to dismantle one of my blog and don’t want to pay the hosting fees for that blog any longer. Well I got an e-mail from them that they can’t cancel that particular blog but they now have it set to expire. Well I don’t really understand why they won’t cancel it? The refund isn’t a huge deal as they only charge $10 per year anyway. I just wanted it removed from my account.

Can anyone explain to me why they won’t cancel it?
