I have to say that the year 2008 actually wasn’t that bad around here. We have certainly put in a lot worse years than this one. Not only did I return to a job that I absolutely hated, and then switch positions to a job that I absolutely love, but I was also able to create a little extra income through my home business. Not a lot mind you, but any extra income is always great. There were no deaths in the family and everyone was pretty healthy for the most part. So I have to all in all it was a pretty good year. I am looking forward to what 2009 may bring. New year…new opportunities.

So…to each and all I would like to wish you all a very happy new year! May 2009 bring you all the joys in life that you so desperately deserve.

With Christmas now firmly behind us and the New year right around the corner, I have started thinking about new year’s resolutions and whether or not to make any this year. Do you guys make any new year’s resolutions and if you do, do you follow through with them?

This year I have decided to make a new year’s resolution and that would be to try to find ways to save money. The first thing I have done (yeah, I know it’s not the new year yet) is to find a cheap term life insurance quote online. This could potentially save me a few bucks. And I have been considering selling my car and learning to drive my husband’s. This would save a lot of money. As I said these are just some of the things I have been looking at. Hopefully I’ll follow through with my resolution and save a little money over the next year.

Well with only three days left before Christmas, you would think I would be a little more on the ball now wouldn’t you??  Nope, once again I have left a lot of things to the last minute.  Matter of fact, I still don’t have my Christmas tree up yet.  Can you imagine that??  We do have it bought and in the porch so we are moving a little closer to getting it done.  Later this afternoon the kids and I will be re-arranging the living room.  Then when my husband gets home from work he will bring the tree in and tomorrow after it settles the kids and I will decorate it.  Oh well.  Better late than never I guess.  I just honestly wish I wouldn’t do this to myself  each and every year.  You would think at the ripe old age of 40 that I would have learned my lesson by now wouldn’t you??  Well I haven’t.  But here’s to hoping better things for next year!

I am allergic to a lot of antibiotic medication but not allergic to much more than that. As long as I stay away from these medications I am usually quite fine. Well last night I discovered that I have another allergy. Only problem is, is that I’m not really sure what this allergy is to. I’ve narrowed it down to either the NyQuil I have been taking for this wicked cough or to the clearasil pads I’ve been using for the past few days. These are the only things that are different in my life, so it’s got to be one of these two. It’s really a good thing that I have no need for a diet pill or I would probably find myself allergic to those as well. Oh well I’ll just have to stop taking these two things and hopefully my rash and hives will go away. If not, then I’m completely in the dark as to what I am now allergic to.

Well we sent the kids to school this morning as usual.  Well about 10 am this morning it started to snow and boy…was it snowing bad.  So they canceled school early and sent all the kids home by dinner time.  It’s a good thing that I listen to the radio every day, as this was how I found out that the kids were on their way home.  So I took off like a shot to go pick them up.  And now I have three children here all afternoon.  It’s only been an hour and a half since they got home, and their driving me crazy already.  Man I hate snow days!  Now all I have to do is to wait until 5:30 pm to get rid of this extra kid and my house will be a lot quieter.  Hopefully this snowfall stops by morning and they can all go back to school or I’m going to be in for a very long day tomorrow as well.

Unfortunately for all consumers, our economic situation is probably going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better. That is why it is so important for us as consumers to try to minimize our monthly expenses. One way to do this is to find companies like autoinsurance-4u.com which will give us good cheap auto insurance quotes. After receiving these cheap insurance quotes then we can make the decision on whether or not to stay with our current insurance provider or if we may want to switch companies. With the ease and convenience of the Internet these days, it is not difficult to find good cheap auto insurance online. And every penny we save will help us with more important financial obligations. Although finding a lower insurance quote and acting upon this information will not generate a huge amount of income, it can save you some money in the long run and this extra money can be used to ease the financial strain and burden on any family.

I have had this template for well over a year now.  But, I’m thinking now that I would like to spruce things up a bit.  I have seen other blogs that are so much prettier than this blog and I have been wondering where they find their pretty designs.  Do you have someone create you a custom template or do you have a favorite site on the Internet where you can find some free template designs.  I’m not really computer savvy so making a template of my own is seriously out of the question, but I would love to hear from you all on where you have found yours.  It’s time for a change, but I honestly don’t know where to turn to next.

Last night I was watching a show on TV where people’s homes were being showcased for their outside Christmas decorations. Instead of making me feel happy it kind of depressed me. It got me to thinking that my decorations outside are pretty boring and crappy. The kids like them, but I wish I had the artistic flair that some of these other home owners have. I seen a house located on the las vegas strip that was all decked out for the holidays and their lights could be seen for miles around. That’s the way I want mine! Although it’s a little too late to go that crazy this year, I already have a plan in the works for next year. Who knows. Maybe my decorations next year may equal those that I watched on TV last night. We can always hope.

We have had rain steadily since sometime last night. The water on the roads and in people’s yards is crazy. With the amount of rain that we have gotten over the past few hours, I wouldn’t be really surprised if people’s houses started flooding and leaking. If you lived in steel buildings you wouldn’t really have to worry about the leaking, but you could still be in danger of the flooding. We have gotten that much rain.

Here in my house we do not have any flooding (we live on a hill), but we do have a lot of leaks. There is really nothing we can do at this point to get rid of the leaks except for putting a new roof on it. And because of the cost of a new roof we are trying to get the winter out of the old one. Well it’s a good thing we have lots of pots and pans as I don’t see any of these leaks going away any time soon.
