Changing shifts

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under work

Today and tomorrow will be my last two shifts EVER as kitchen supervisor at my place of employment.  First thing Sunday morning I will be dressed as a waitress and serving customers.  Although I will take a decrease in pay, I really don’t care as I know I will be a lot happier and look forward to going to work once again.  The past couple of months employed as kitchen supervisor has been brutal and I honestly can’t wait until these two days are over.  And, you can bet that I will NEVER EVER set foot in the kitchen again.

Saving money with YOOX coupons

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under hobbies, life

I don’t think it really matters where you live in the world these days, all the economies are going through a rough time right now. So I’m sure that you are probably looking for ways to save a little extra cash in your day to day lives. Well one way to do this would be through the use of coupons and one of the best coupons to get your hands on would be the YOOX coupons.

I know myself, I use free coupons whenever I can to save a little extra money. I rely heavily on them especially during the holiday season. With friends and family to buy presents for, these coupons really do come in handy. I used to spend hours cutting them out of the newspaper until I discovered the Internet and how easy it is to find and print of free valuable coupons. I use them on all sorts of products like kitchen products, toys books and groceries.

So whether your looking for ways to save money in your day to day lives, or your looking for a way to save some money during this holiday season, then why not start searching the Internet and printing off your own coupons. You’ll be amazed at the amount of money you will save on your next shopping trip.

All decked out for Christmas

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under home

For the first time in five years, we have put up Christmas lights on the outside of our home.  I know…we were bad…but we’re better now.

On Sunday my husband and my youngest son went outside in the blistering cold to put up our lights.  The first obstacle they came across was that the old lights (five years old) were rusted and no good.  So off to the store they went.  Then the staple gun broke.  Well my husband refused to go back to the store, but luckily our neighbor had one.  So then the lights went up.

Now every night after school my son goes outside and plugs them in.  He claims that this is his job.  He is having fun doing his job, but I really have to wonder if he will still enjoy it in another month?!  Oh well.  They are up!!

Busy weekend

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under life

This is shaping up to be a pretty busy weekend here in our house.  First of all I really need to start the Christmas shopping so I have decided today will be the day that I brave the malls.  Hopefully they won’t be too busy, but I have heard a lot of horror stories already about people having to wait in line for over two hours at the checkouts.  Hopefully this won’t happen to me.  Then later on today we are having our annual Santa clause parade here in town so my husband and I and the kids will be headed out a little later today for that.  Then tomorrow I have to get things ready for the kids to go back to school and then I need to go to work myself.  So if I’m not around much this weekend, now you know why.

Update on job

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under work

Well after all my ranting and raving last weekend about my job and a certain employee, I am happy to report that things have been resolved.

Although I really wouldn’t wish losing your job on any person, when you completely ignore the rules and just don’t give a crap, I feel you deserve what you get.  Well the girl in question was fired.  She walked out on her shift and the manager told her that if this was the route she chose to go with, she would be let go.  So she made her own choice and the end result was completely up to her.  I do feel bad that she lost her job, but I also realize that she did it to herself.  So because the manager backed me up on this one, I guess I am still employed.

Man…I hate my job!!

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under work

A couple of months ago I returned back to my former place of employment.  But this time instead of returning to the dining room as a waitress, I went into the kitchen as a supervisor.  And I have to tell you all that I absolutely hate it!!  A couple of the staff members are a real pain in the (you know where) and they are making my life miserable.  Right now we can’t afford to get rid of them, and they know it so they pull all sorts of crap.  Well I have just about come to the end of my rope.  Within the next couple of days one in particular will be fired, or I will be leaving.  I really don’t care if we are short staffed, I shouldn’t have to put up with this garbage each and every weekend.

I will definitely keep you all updated on the status of this employee and whether or not she is leaving or I am.  Because…one of us will be!

I really do need a GPS system

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under friends, life

The other night a friend of mine needed a drive home from work. And because she just works down the street from me and lives next door to me, I offered to pick her up after I was done work. Well I probably shouldn’t have done that. I got lost. Yes, I did. It was really dark and rainy out and I missed her building and ending up driving all the way down the street. When I got to my husband’s bank I realized I made a huge boo-boo and had to turn around and head back. I did find the place eventually, but a five minute drive ended up being about 20. So, I have decided that I either need to invest in a Garmin GPS system or stop offering to pick people up and drive them home.

My oldest son

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under general, kids

With Christmas fast approaching and my oldest son living so far away, I’m having a real difficult time deciding what to send him for Christmas this year. I’m not really sure what he needs or what he’s into so this is why this decision is becoming quite difficult. I guess I could always send him a gift card for a micro sd or a gift card for clothes but these ideas seem so impersonal. Last year I sent him money but I want to do something different this year. If I do in fact end up mailing him some gifts they have to be quite small as I really don’t want to pay a huge amount in shipping charges. Oh well I still have a month to think about things. Hopefully by then I’ll have something figured out.

Extremely long…weekend

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under kids, life

This weekend is another long weekend for our kids.  They get to be home from school Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Monday is a holiday for the kids from school as the teachers have meetings and Tuesday is a holiday for the kids because it’s Remembrance day here in Canada.  Well my two kids actually had a longer weekend then was originally planned.  My son was home sick from school on Thursday and Friday and my daughter was home sick from school on Friday.  So I have already had them home for a few days.  But the good news is, is that when their sick, they don’t fight.  So even though they have been home for a few days, I haven’t had to put up with the excessive fighting that normally goes on when they are together.  Hopefully the rest of the weekend will pass by with this lack of fighting as well.  I can always hope now can’t I?

Stressful job

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under entertainment, family, work

Well I thought I would give you all an update on how my employment situation is going. Well I’ve been back for a couple of months now and I have to say that I absolutely HATE it!! I really really do. I have made a decision about leaving. I have decided to leave there around the first of June. The reason why I have picked June is because we really don’t do a whole lot of stuff as a family in the winter so I do have the time to continue to work on the weekends. But when June hits we do a lot of camping and golfing with our Callaway golf clubs and I refuse to mess up our summer camping season for a job that I hate. So until June I’ll just try to stick it out. Hopefully I can make it that long. I’ll keep you posted.
