Picky eater

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under health, kids

Although my son is eight, he only looks about six. Right now he is going to school (he’s in grade 3) in size six pants. He is the smallest kid in his class and it has always been like that since he first started school. Thankfully his size doesn’t bother him, but if he doesn’t start to grow soon, I think he size may bother him later on in life. I think part of the problem of his not gaining weight is because he refuses to eat any type of healthy cooking. I have taken him to the doctor and discussed this with him. Except for him being very small for his size, he is very healthy so the doctor isn’t worried about it at all. And as far as the foods he eats, his doctor told me to just let him eat what he wants. So if the doctor isn’t concerned, then I guess I shouldn’t be either. I just wish he would eat better.

Interesting conversation

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under School, work

The other day I had a very interesting conversation with one of the owner’s of the place where I currently work. We got on the topic of the secretary that they currently have working for them and the fact that in a couple of years she will be retiring. So I just happened to mention to the boss that I do in fact have a marketing diploma and that I’ve had experience in the secretarial field. She got pretty excited and told me that she will definitely keep this in mind if and when the position does become available. Since this lady won’t be retiring any time soon this does give me a chance to take a few refresher classes. It’s been a long time since I graduated from college and some of the terms like retail pos systems are a little foreign to me. But if I start taking classes now, I have no doubt that I will be up for the job when the time comes.

I’m getting bored

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under blogging

Well I have started to get bored.  So you all know what that means right??  Yup.  I’m going to change the look and feel of this blog real soon.  It’s been almost a year with the same template so I’m really thinking that it’s time for a change.  But if I know me, it will take me quite a while to make the change as it normally takes me quite a while to find a template I like.  With hundreds and hundreds of free templates to choose from it normally takes me quite a while to make up my mind.  So this process probably won’t take place any time soon, but I thought I’d give you all a heads up that it’s going to happen.

Technology questions and answers

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under Internet, blogging

Most of you who read my blog (or blogs) already know that I am seriously technology challenged. Although I can now set up and maintain a blog of my own, that’s just about it. I am pretty clueless as to the ins and outs of the Internet and the advanced workings of today’s technology. That is why on a regular basis I browse the Internet for sites that can give me some valuable information about the latest and greatest technology that is available on the market today. One site which I frequent often just happens to be the Gadget Advisor.

Over at this site I have found tons of information regarding setting up an online backup service. This information is a must have for any blogger. I have also discovered things like top extensions for Firefox which comes in very handy when the only browser you use is Firefox which is the case with me. But I have also discovered that this site also does reviews on computer hardware, software, and gadgets such as the Logitech universal remote. They only do reviews on the latest and greatest so you know that when you go into their site looking for specific information you will not have to wade through a lot of garbage to get to the good stuff.

This site has helped me out more than I can ever tell you. And if your technology challenged such as I am, then I highly encourage you to drop by this site to discover all the latest and greatest that is now in the technology field.

The high cost of moving

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under family, home

When my father in law decided to sell his home and move into a smaller one he started checking out different prices on renting moving trucks and was quite amazed at the range of prices that different companies are charging. Because he was only moving a short distance away he decided to move everything in his van to try to save some money. But had he been moving a little farther than he was, he would have needed to at least rent a truck if not a truck and driver. When he was checking out these different companies he really had to wonder why they all were charging such different prices. Oh well at least he is now completely moved and he did it all himself.

Pretty scary stuff

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under family, health

My sister in law is only 45 years old, but tomorrow she is going to have a major hip surgery replacement. She is terrified at the thoughts of going under the knife and I honestly can’t blame her. I can’t imagine only being the age that she is and needing this type of surgery. When she was younger she had six surgeries on her hips and the doctors did tell her that later in life she was going to need to have them completely replaced. She did expect that this day would come. But I don’t think she expected it quite so soon. They told her she will not be able to walk properly for about six months but after that time she should be good to go for life. So I guess it’s a good thing that this is being looked after now. Her surgery is tomorrow so my husband and I will go visit her on Tuesday to see how she made out.

Just don’t understand the sport

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under Sports, work

The company that my husband works for is normally involved with a lot of charitable events. In a couple of months all the guys are going to be involved in a charity golf tournament. Well the only problem with this is that my husband has never played the game of golf. So last night we sat down and tried to watch some Orlando golf. He understood most of what was going on. But I have to say that even by the end of the game I was still kind of clueless. Well good thing for the company that it’s not me that will be involved in this charity event. Now isn’t it??

Another baby

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under friends

I have a friend who currently has five kids right now. Last week they found out they are expecting baby number six. Wow I only have three and sometimes I find that I loose patience with that many. But her and her husband are quite happy about this event so I am quite happy for her as well. Last night we were talking on the phone and I started teasing her about needing to look for a bus for sale. She actually kind of liked my idea and said she was going to mention it to her husband. I really don’t know if she was kidding about this or not. But sometime next summer baby number six will arrive and then I’m pretty sure that she will be done having babies.

Headache every day

Published by User ImageagogenectTach under health

For the past couple of weeks now I have been experiencing a lot of headaches.  I usually end up with one every day.  So I made an appointment to go see my doctor to see what is going on in this pretty little head of mine.  He is going to send me for tests but thinks that I should make an eye appointment as well.  Although I had just been to the eye doctor less than six months ago, he still seems to think I may need to go again.  At this point I’ll try anything.  So even though it will cost me some out of pocket money I am willing to do this to try to get rid of these headaches.  I just hope it isn’t anything more serious then needing my glasses to be changed.
