Thinking Outloud

The one thing that I just love about computers and the Internet is the amount of knowledge that a person can gain on doing simple searches. But this is also the major thing that frustrates me as well. Because there is so much information around the Internet, sometimes I spend hours looking for something. That’s why I love finding sites that are directory sites. These type of sites make is so much easier to find information that I am looking for quite quickly.

Yesterday I was looking on the Internet for Atlanta granite countertops to compare prices and I was extremely happy to find tons of information regarding this project directly from a directory site. As you all know, we are currently renovating our home and one of the things I am planning on putting in it is granite counter tops. By comparing prices from Atlanta and other areas, I was able to determine that the price I am paying isn’t really that bad.

While I was at this site I also discovered other cool information. Like where to find a decent Raleigh Landscaping site and other types of information that I find invaluable. So if your like I am an detest searching for hours for information than I highly suggest checking out these types of directories.

Let me tell you all about my horribly, long…day.  First thing this morning I grabbed my cup of coffee and proceeded to do a little work on the Internet.  About an hour into my routine, I lost Internet connection.  So I checked my phone and sure enough I was without phone service as well.  And yes, my bills are up to date. lol  So I started walking around the neighborhood and asked my neighbors if they had phone service and no one did.  So at least I knew I wasn’t alone.  So I went on to clean the house thinking the service would be restored quickly.  Well it wasn’t!  I had no Internet service for well over 9 hours!!  That’s a long time for a person like me who is on the Internet every day.  But at least it’s back now (or I couldn’t do this post) and I also have a very clean house.

As you all know my father in law is selling his four bedroom home and moving into a mini home. Although he hasn’t sold his home yet, he has purchased another one. So yesterday on our way to the campsite we decided to take a detour and go and check out his new home. The new place that he bought is quite small, but it has everything that him and his wife to be could possibly ever need. Not only did it come partially furnished, but it also came all set up with all the KVM switches for his computers. So now all he needs to do is finish moving in all his personal items and then he is good to go.

Yesterday it finally got a little sunny in the afternoon so we packed up the camper and took off for the campsite. We knew we would only be able to stay one night, but we figured that one night was better than none. After we got to the campsite and got all set up, it started to rain. So after sitting in the trailer for an hour with no let up in sight, we decided to take the kids to the movies. After sitting in the theater for an hour I was really starting to relax. I just love the seating in theaters and really wish that I had some home theater seating in my home. After the movie was over, the rain had stopped so we headed back to the trailer park so the kids could have a little fun. Actually we had a really good time last night in spite of the rain.

Time certainly does fly when your having fun. Last week my husband was home on vacation and now today is his last day. We have so much that we need to get done before he goes back to work tomorrow that it’s quite scary. We had a lot of plans of things that we were going to get done over the past week and didn’t get any of it completed. It was rainy, windy and cold all week so all the work outside didn’t get done. It’s a bit better today so we will be doing a lot of yard work and work on the extension. He did remark that he now wishes he took this week of too. Maybe the weather would have cooperated with us and we would have been able to get it all done. Oh well. Life happens.

Wow I can’t believe how bad the mesothelioma problem has gotten in our area all of a sudden. You used to hear a lot about other bigger cities having a lot of trouble with the these types of drugs, but our area hadn’t been that bad. Now all you hear about is the many many people who are addicted to these drugs and others and the amount of crime that has gone up because of all these problems. Although my two youngest kids are only 10 and 8, I shudder to think about what type of world they will have to grow up in. We live in a small rural area and up until a little while ago I thought the children would be safe. Now I’m not so sure.

A couple of months ago my husband gave me a very nice gift. He gave me a gift certificate to a massage center for a day of pampering. The only problem with this gift is that I absolutely hate it when strangers touch me. So I don’t know how in the world he thought I would be able to use this type of gift. I am so bad in this area that I will only go to get my haircut every two years because I don’t like strangers touching my head. I guess I’ll never be able to enroll in any massage therapy schools as I also don’t luck to touch anyone else. I know I sound a little silly, but this is the way I am. So I gave my gift away.

I realize that this is summer vacation but I’m telling you that this has not been a very good summer vacation for me. The kids have spent most of their summer vacation fighting which has put a lot of stress in our household. It doesn’t matter what I say or do, the fighting keeps going on. I really think that at this point in my summer vacation I really need to get away to somewhere like the Outer Banks rentals all by myself just to get away from the fighting. The good news is, is that the kids go back to school in three weeks so I will get to start my vacation then.

I just got a phone call from my father in law telling me that the community wide yard sale will take place in his home town tomorrow.  This means that he is finally having his huge yard sale which also means that I will have a chance to sell some of my homemade jewelry.  Although he didn’t give me a whole lot of notice, I will still be able to get most of my stuff together to try to sell a few pieces.  I’ll be sure to pop back in here tomorrow to let you all know how I make out selling my creations.  Wish me luck!

I honestly can’t wait for another three weeks to be up. The kids go back to school in three weeks which means that I get to go back to my normal routines. During the summer months I haven’t been on the Internet as much as I should be and I have barely been able to create any crafts for my small home crafting business. And forget getting any cleaning done. My home office looks like a truck has run through it and the bedrooms haven’t fared much better either. But in three weeks I will have the house back to myself so I will get it all under control then.
