With my husband’s father buying a new mini home, he now has to sell his current home in six months or risk paying two mortgage payments. Now this isn’t a good idea for anyone, but a man living on a fixed income this could be devastating. To help sell his home faster, he has decided to do a few little fix ups. Not a whole lot, but just enough to make the place look better. He is planning on painting throughout the home, replacing the carpets in all the bedrooms and changing the bathroom fixtures. Although he won’t be doing a lot of renovations, the little stuff that he does get done will help him to sell the place faster and hopefully help him get the money he wants for it.

  1. Oh I wouldn’t want to try selling a home right now. Good luck to him.

  2. With the market the way it is I wish him all the best and hope he can find a buyer! Doing makeovers on a house is fun…currently doing that myself on another place so we can move!

  3. I hope everything works out it is a buyer’s market here and selling for a reasonable price has not been easy for most, but a double mortgage is not easy either, especially on a fixed income. Keep my fingers crossed that he makes a quick, profitable sale.
