It was announced on our local radio station that Elton John is indeed coming to town.  There have been rumors flying around for months about this event, but was not confirmed until yesterday.  He will be in town on September 30 for one night only.  The tickets go on sale first thing this Saturday morning.  I would like to say that I’m going to be purchasing a couple of tickets, but sadly I’m not.

The price for each ticket is $163.00.  And I honestly can’t justify spending that type of money on any concert tickets.  So I think the only way I am going to be able to go to this once in a life time concert is if I win some tickets on the radio.  All next week they are going to have opportunities for listeners to register and win a couple of tickets.

I’ll let you all know how I make out.  It will break my heart if I can’t go to see the “Rocket Man”.  But at the prices of the tickets I really can’t see that happening.

Although my father in law hasn’t sold his current home yet, last week he did put a bid on a mini home in a trailer park. The bid was accepted so in six months time he will be moving into his new home. There is only one problem with this. He is not allowed to take his dog with him. When his wife passed away in September, this dog was a life saver. He helped my father in law come out of his depression and gave him some much needed company. I really have no idea what he will do without his little friend.

He has asked my husband and I to take the dog, but we had to tell him no. The dog doesn’t like kids and we have two living in our home. Plus we have tons of kids that live in our neighborhood and if the dog ever did anything to them, I don’t know how I could live with myself. No amount of pet supplements will make this dog safe around kids. So I really hope he can find this dog a really good home. If the dog liked kids, we would have taken him in a heartbeat.

With gas prices being so unreasonable here in Canada as well as the US I really have to wonder how some companies are making any profits at all. When gas prices go up a lot of other prices go up as well. I have noticed around here that grocery costs have started to rise due to increased gas prices. And our tourism is down this year as well. It makes me wonder how hotels in las vegas or any other hotel owners are going to weather this crises. With less people travelling, there will be less people booking hotels as well. And by all reports, this problem is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
