Not much on the go today

Published by Kim under family, crafts, kids

Happy long weekend to you all.  Today is Good Friday, but there really isn’t much going on in our household today.  My husband, who was supposed to be off, was called out to work this morning.  And, as he had to travel quite a distance to the job site, he will proablybe gone most of the day.  So that leaves me and the two kids home alone all day.  So I think we will have a quite day today doing crafts and playing around on the computer.  Although this may sound quite boring, sometimes having days like today can be an excellent day to just unwind and recharge the batteries.  We do have quite a busy weekend ahead of us, so having a quiet day sounds like a great idea to me.

Another birthday party

Published by Kim under entertainment, kids

Having two young kids at home, it’s starting to get pretty expensive for all the birthday parties that they get invited to. One of the kids is in grade 4 and the other is in grade 2 and both get invited to a lot of birthday parties in the run of a year. Then you have to account for neighbors parties and family birthdays as well. This can begin to get quite expensive as you need to purchase a gift, a gift bag or wrapping paper and a card. So I have been looking at possible sites where I could purchase some personalized birthday cards for these numerous parties.

One area where I can save some money but still give out acceptable birthday cards is by ordering personalized Birthday Cards from cardsdirect.com. While visiting their site, I discovered that they have a lot of ready made cards available, but they also give you the option of having your cards personalized as well. Their prices are extremely competitive to other sites that sell similar products and their site is extremely user friendly. If you find yourself purchasing a lot of birthday cards in the run of year and would like to check out a site where you can purchase fairly inexpensive personalized birthday cards, then I highly suggest that you check out this site. Just check out the following picture of a card that you can order from their site.

Not a good day today

Published by Kim under health, life

I honestly can’t tell you if my problem stems from the fact that I’m getting older or what.  But, I’m having a serious sleeping problem lately.  It takes me forever to fall asleep and then I don’t sleep soundly the whole night.  I am awake on and off all night and it’s really starting to annoy me.  Last night was no different than any other night these past two weeks and I’m seriously starting to get tired.

Here it is only 11:00 am in the morning and I could just lay right down and go to sleep.  But I know once I laid down, I wouldn’t be able to sleep and I would just end up being annoyed again.  I really don’t want to go to the doctor and get sleeping pills, but it looks like I’m going to have to do something soon or soon I’ll be walking around like a zombie.  And, I’m pretty sure that I’m not the easiest person to live with when I don’t get my full 8 hours.

Pizza party

Published by Kim under kids, School

My youngest son got off the school bus this afternoon extremely excited. One of the programs that he’s involved with ended today and they had a pizza party. I really wish that I had of known that the teacher was going to do this. I wouldn’t have sent a lunch today had I known. But, he seemed to enjoy his party. He had three pieces of pizza, two cookies, three pieces of licorice and five glasses of pop. I guess you now know why he got off the bus bouncing. lol

This is one of the reasons why I love this school so much. It’s because of all these little surprises that they are always bestowing upon the kids for a job will done. And, as an added bonus, I didn’t have to make him any supper tonight, he ate his school lunch.

We are so lucky

Published by Kim under family, health

I have been hearing a lot on the news lately about how bad the United States health care system is. I thank god every day that I live in Canada and don’t have to worry about paying for extra medicare insurance just to keep my families health insured. All our basic medical expenses are covered. That would be normal doctor’s visits, specialists visits and even hospital stays. If you want extra coverage, you can purchase some but to survive here in Canada, you don’t have to. I feel really bad for those living in the States that have small families and don’t have coverage. I’m just thankful that this is something that I don’t have to worry about.

I am so spoiled!!

Published by Kim under blogging, family, internet income, work

A couple of years I purchased my own laptop.  The main reason for this purchase was so that I could try to find some employment on-line.  I knew that my full time job outside of the home was slowly coming to an end, so I wanted to find something on-line to supplement the income that I knew I would eventually lose.  The laptop I purchased was quite cheap and was a very basic model.  The memory on it wasn’t really good and the speed of the unit itself was quite slow.  So for the past couple of months I’ve been hinting to my husband about getting a new and more up to date laptop.  Never in a million years did I think he would purchase me one.  But he did!!

Last night he came home with a brand new laptop for me.  He told me the main reason why he purchased it for me was because I needed it for “work”.  He said he was very proud of the fact that I do work on-line and that I take my jobs very seriously.  So because of my hard work and determination, he wanted to surprise me.  And…boy did he ever!!  But, if the truth be told, I think he bought it because I am extremely spoiled. lol

A different way of selling

Published by Kim under internet income, crafts

As most of you are aware, I am currently trying to get a small home crafting business up and running. It’s going quite slowly at the moment, but things are starting to pick up. Right now I sell stuff (mainly jewelry for now) on my Simply Crafting website as well as through my Etsy shop. Well I have discovered a new way to try to promote and sell my jewelry. It’s through WP auctions. It’s really easy to set up and there are no fees EVER.

All you need to do is pop on over to Life with Kim and you can see what is currently up for sale. If any of my jewelry interests you, all you need to do is click on the “bid now” button and you can place your bid. It’s just that easy. And, if you have anything yourself that you would like to sell, why not set up your own account and let the bidding begin.

I discovered something new

Published by Kim under health, general

Last night on TV I seen a commercial for a skin whitening product. I had never seen this type of product before, and it really got me curious as to what exactly this product accomplishes and what type of ingredients go into it. Now I have heard of teeth whitening products before so I wondered if it was about the same thing. One of the good things that I discovered about this product is that is is made bleach and hydroquinone free. So it seems safe enough for anyone to use. I myself and not really in the market for this type of product, but I can honestly see what benefits would come out of using this type of product for someone who would like to have a little lighter skin.

I need a new computer

Published by Kim under blogging, Internet

For the past couple of weeks I have been mentioning to my husband that I would really like a new computer. The one I currently use runs really slowly most times and it doesn’t have the memory capacity that I want. So jokingly last night he mentioned to me that I should look into getting a computer rental. After thinking about it, I’m thinking this might now be such a bad thing. If anything goes wrong with the computer, the company you rent it from would have to pay to have it fixed and, if I wanted to upgrade, I could do it a lot more easily than if I owned the unit. So, you can say that he gave me something to think about.
