We are so lucky
I have been hearing a lot on the news lately about how bad the United States health care system is. I thank god every day that I live in Canada and don’t have to worry about paying for extra medicare insurance just to keep my families health insured. All our basic medical expenses are covered. That would be normal doctor’s visits, specialists visits and even hospital stays. If you want extra coverage, you can purchase some but to survive here in Canada, you don’t have to. I feel really bad for those living in the States that have small families and don’t have coverage. I’m just thankful that this is something that I don’t have to worry about.

Many aspects of American society are broken; our health care system is just one example. We’re looking forward to a new / different / better administration in a year so maybe we can dig ourselves out.

I hear you! I’m so thankful for our healthcare and I hope that it’s something we never follow the Americans about.
It’s so hard to grasp the fact that the richest country in the world treats its’ people like that. Breaks my heart!
Have you ever watched Michael Moore’s docu “Sicko”? I want to but haven’t got around to it yet.

Yes, our health care system is horrible. However, there are many Americans that think it is great. Just today I heard on the news that many that do have great insurance think our system is just fine the way it is. Personally I think they are nuts. I went without health care insurance for 7 years simply because it was so dang expensive for one person. Luckily my employer now provides a fantastic insurance for us. But so many people in USA do not have it and it is pathetic that the richest country treats their people like they do. Hopefully it will change for the better in 2009 since we are fast approaching our new administration.
