Pretty decent weather

Published by User ImageKim under general, life

Many of you may not be aware of this, but I live in the East Coast in Canada.  Normally this time of year we are hit with some pretty crappy weather.  We definitely see our share of snow, sleet, hair and bitterly cold temperatures.  But, that is not what this post is about today.  Today I am actually going to say something good about our weather.

Today and for the next few days we see the sun!!  The temperatures are also quite mild today and this trend is expected to continue of the next several days.  So as far as the weather goes, I really have nothing to complain about today.  This is a good thing.  But don’t worry, when the weather starts to get crappy, I’ll be back with all my moaning and complaining again. lol

For all your Valentine’s Day gift needs

Published by User ImageKim under family, entertainment

As you all know, Valentine’s day is next week. My husband is always complaining that he never knows what to get me to mark this special day. So, this year I am way ahead of him. I am going to send him to a site where he can find tons of different Valentine’s day gift ideas. With the amount of selection that this site has to offer, he is sure to find me something nice. I won’t tell him exactly which of the products on the site I want, but I will give him a nudge in the right direction towards the organic gifts selection.

But, if it’s not organic gifts that your into, this site offers a large variety of traditional Valentine’s day gifts as well. You can choose from Roses, other cut flowers, chocolates or even teddy bears. The prices are quite reasonable and their ordering practices are extremely easy to follow. So, if your husband’s excuse for not finding you an awesome Valentine’s day gift is the same as mine, then I highly encourage you to nudge him over to this site. He will find the perfect gift for you and will think that he did all by himself.

Another Daniel moment

Published by User ImageKim under kids

Honestly guys I know I could start a brand new blog and only put in the funny things that my son says and does and I could probably keep this blog running for years.  He is only seven so what he says may sound saucy to some, but it really isn’t.  It’s just Daniel being Daniel.  Of course when he comes up with something brilliant, I just have to spread the word.  Oh he would be so mad at me if he knew I blogged about him.  But as long as he has his funny moments, I will continue to tell you all about them.

Today I was teasing him telling him he was getting “fat”.  Trust me, nothing could be farther from the truth.  So I told him the only way to lose weight was on a “kissing diet”.  If he kissed me, he would lose weight.  Then his sister said if he kissed her, he would get fat!  So, I asked him what would happen if he kissed his father.  With a strait face he informed me that he would get UGLY.

I laughed so hard.  His father would have too if he had of heard him.  But that’s Daniel.  Says what he thinks and then thinks about it later on.  He should be thankful that his father has a wonderful sense of humor.  I wonder what he will come out with next??

Something fun and exciting

Published by User ImageKim under blogging, Internet

Any blog owner will tell you that one of the most important thing for your blog is to attract readers. What is the point of creating a blog and posting to it regularly if no one reads it. After you have posted on your blog for awhile and advertised it to the Internet world, wouldn’t it be nice to see how popular your blog really is?! Well, that is where IZEARanks.com comes in. By using the real rank system, you will be able to determine exactly how popular your blog is in real time. Because of the uncertainty of Alexa numbers and the dreaded Google page rank indicator, having real rank information for any blog has become increasingly important for determining just how popular your blog really is.

What is IZEARanks you ask? Well I’m going to tell you. IZEAranks is a ranking system that the folks at PPP developed. It uses a piece of javascript that will collect and report all your actual traffic which in turns gives you a ranking number among other blogs on the Internet. If your concerned about getting any hits from Google, you need not worry as it is a totally different code than the one used for paid postings through PPP. Anybody with a blog can join in on the IZEArank system. You do not have to be a member of PPP to have any of your blogs ranked and you can enroll all your blogs.

If your considering getting your own IZEA rank, now is the time to enroll. Right now IZEA is giving away $1000 every Tuesday in February for the highest ranking blog (see the site for the official rules). So, if you would like to see where your blog measures up in terms of real rank and not arbitrary numbers, why not submit your blog today and discover your real rank.

I feel like a little kid

Published by User ImageKim under home, general

On the weekend my husband and I purchased a new couch and yesterday it was delivered.  Yay!  But, there is only one problem, I don’t remember it being so big in the store.  I’m pretty sure that when we looked at it, the feet of the couch was not on it.  I would have remembered the fact that I can’t touch the floor when sitting on it!  It is extremely high and when I sit down on it my feet are dangling just like a little kid!

Last night while I was sitting on it, my husband was laughing his head of at me.  Here I am, almost 40, and can’t sit properly on my own couch.  He is actually going back in the store today to talk to the salesman about this “minor” problem.  But, it’s not a real big deal as I do love the couch, it just swallows me whole.

Oh well, maybe when I do finally grow up, I will fit in quite nicely with my couch.

We are moving

Published by User ImageKim under family, home

Now that spring is right around the corner, my husband and I have made the firm decision to sell our current home and purchase a house. So now that the decision has been made, it time that we start checking out all the different options that are available to consumers like us with regards to Mortgages. This is a really big move for us, so obviously we need to make the very best decision possible for our new family home.

While doing some research, I have discovered a very interesting site over at www.earth.co.uk where I can get all the information I need to make any mortgage decisions that I need to. I have found that this site offers free financing advice and quotes. This type of service is extremely important to me as it does help me out a great deal while trying to make the right decisions. Their highly qualified staff will find the best rates for you. They take most of the guess work out of the mortgage decision making process which is great for first time home buyers. So, if applying for a mortgage is in your future, why not drop by this site and let these people find the very best rate for you.

I hate the waiting game.

Published by User ImageKim under general

I don’t think there is anything more in life that I despise more than waiting.  I hate waiting for a phone call, someone to show up, deliveries, and even waiting for blog pages to load.  Oh did I forget to mention that I hate dial up as well??  Well today I am playing the waiting game and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.

On Sunday my husband and I purchased a brand new couch.  Today is the day that it is supposed to be delivered.  So today I get to wait around all day waiting and waiting.  Of course they wouldn’t give me an estimated time when this item would be delivered.  So this means that I get to sit around my house all day long.  Hopefully it does come today like they promised, or I will be sitting here WAITING again tomorrow.  I hope the new couch is worth all this frustration.

The couch arrives tomorrow!

Published by User ImageKim under family, home

Finally after months of looking my husband and I were able to agree on a couch to purchase.  I’ve lost count how many times and how many stores we went into just looking at couches.  We could never agree on one and always walked out empty handed.  Well yesterday I was determined that this would not happen again.  So I went couch shopping with it firmly planted in my mind that when we walked out of the store we would have made a purchase.  And we did!

So I will be waiting at my front door all day tomorrow until they deliver my newest purchase.  I shudder to think what will happen the next time we need to make a purchase of this size again.  Can you imagine what will happen when we go house hunting??

Doing up my taxes

Published by User ImageKim under crafts, work

As you all know last year I started a small home crafting business. I did pretty good for just starting out and I did end up by the end of the year having a few sales. But because I did have a few sales, I now need to file income tax for this type of business. The good thing about having a home business is the fact that you can claim all sorts of deductions. So this year I will be claiming deductions on my home office space, my Internet service (advertising) and my office supplies such as ink pens. Because I have never had a home business before, this year I will go to a professional to get my taxes filed. Always better to be safe than sorry in these matters.
