When we first brought home our daughter (almost 10 years ago), I wanted to get her ears pierced. But, my husband said absolutely not! As she got older he started asking her if this is something that she wanted. And, every time he asked her she always said a definite NO. So I was quite surprised today when she mentioned that she would like to get her ears pierced. She claimed she didn’t have pierced ears because her father wouldn’t let her. But I explained to her that this hasn’t been the case in the last few years. The decision has always been left up to her. So when my husband asked her today if this is something that she really wants to have done, she said yes. So sometime this week he is going to take her to a saloon to have this done.
My little girl IS growing up.

Both me & my sisters were all allowed to get our ears pierced when we turned 10… it was like a rite of passage. When my youngest sister got hers done (we are over 20 years apart in age) I held her hand and got mine pierced a second time.
Take pics… they do grow up so fast!!

ohhh brave little girl! I do want to but am scared of people’s reaction in my community. I belong to a religion that does not encourage piercings. they might think i can never enter heaven with piercings. hehehee
maybe when i get older…i will. i wonder would it be real painful?
