For many many years, I would not even consider getting a checking account. I have had up to three savings accounts, but I was so concerned about the fees associated with checking accounts that I wouldn’t even consider opening one. Then one of the ladies at my bank had a long talk with me about the benefits of having a checking account. Well now that I have started my own home crafting business is is really important that I have a checking account. By using this type of account, I can keep track of all my deposits and expenses. This will be really helpful to me when tax time rolls around. So I am happy to report that I among the millions of Canadians that have a checking account.

When we first brought home our daughter (almost 10 years ago), I wanted to get her ears pierced.  But, my husband said absolutely not!  As she got older he started asking her if this is something that she wanted.  And, every time he asked her she always said a definite NO.  So I was quite surprised today when she mentioned that she would like to get her ears pierced.  She claimed she didn’t have pierced ears because her father wouldn’t let her.  But I explained to her that this hasn’t been the case in the last few years.  The decision has always been left up to her.  So when my husband asked her today if this is something that she really wants to have done, she said yes.  So sometime this week he is going to take her to a saloon to have this done.

My little girl IS growing up.
