I hate dial-up!

Published by Kim at 12:55 pm under blogging, Internet

I’ve got to tell you all that after being quite active on the Internet for the past couple of years, I have come to HATE my dial-up connection.  I have tried to talk my husband into going with high speed, but because he is so cheap, so far I am not having any success.

The main reason why he won’t go for the high speed Internet option is because he doesn’t want to pay for another hook up charge.  In the spring we are planning on selling our current home and buying a house.  So he doesn’t want to pay for a hook up charge when we will be moving shortly anyway and have to incur a hook up charge when we move.

I can see his point, but….having dial-up is really slowing my daily activities down.  So, if we don’t end up moving in the spring, I am getting high speed and I don’t care what he says about an extra hook up charge!!

How much are you currently paying for dialup?

You know… depending on who is around your area, you can get high speed for around $15 a month!

That is weird though, that you have to pay for a setup fee. Is it cable or dsl that is available in your area? If so which one are you currently looking at?

Right now dial up with the message manager system costs around the same as high speed. The price of the high speed isn’t the problem.

I’m looking at cable and through my phone system and both cost an extra set up fee.
