My best friend and I have been friends for nearly 15 years now.  Although we don’t see one another nearly enough, we do stay in constant contact with one another through e-mails and phone calls.  After one of our hour long phone calls, it got me to thinking about how much are lives are alike especially when it comes to our oldest sons.  Her son is 20 and mine is 18.  Both have gotten in a lot of trouble growing up and both have gotten in trouble with the law when they got older.  Another thing that they apparently have in common is that they both haven’t really learned from their mistakes yet.

I love my friend dearly, but it’s times like this that I really wish that we didn’t have so much in common.  I guess the good thing in all this, is that because we are both going through similar situations, we can relate to one another and we can be there for one another.  I really don’t know what I would do without her.

Now that the Christmas season is behind us, the next big holiday that we will all be facing will be Valentines Day. What this means to all you lovers out there, is you will once again be scrambling for perfect valentines day gifts for your loved ones. In our house, valentines day is a very special day as it is also my husband’s birthday. So, not only do I need to find him a perfect gift for valentines day, but for his birthday as well. My two younger kids get such a kick out of this day as they usually get a valentines day gift and think they are getting a birthday present on their father’s birthday.

Finally after almost an entire month of having family members home and underfoot, today I am home alone.  It’s a great feeling!!  I almost forgot what it was like to have a little “me” time.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my family to death and I really wouldn’t know what to do without them, but there comes a time in a girl’s life where a little alone time is needed.  So with all this time on my hands, I really need to get some work done.  There is a lot of housework that needs to be done, I need to get some work done on the Internet and I need to get back into my jewelry making mode.  This sounds like a lot, doesn’t it?!  But, the good thing is, by being here by myself, I know that I will get all this done and then some.
