Has it been two years already?

Published by Kim under life

I know this is going to sound pretty silly to you all.  But one of the things in life that I absolutely hate is getting my hair cut!  I despise walking into a hair salon and having some stranger touch my head.  I really have to wonder if I have a repressed memory to a hair dresser. lol  This is how bad I hate it.  But, every two years whether I need to or not, I venture into my nearest hair cutting salon and get a hair cut.  Well my two years are up and I really need to make an appointment and go.  I have actually thought about going to hair dressing school just so I can learn how to cut my own hair and then I would never have this problem and would probably be able to get a hair cut sooner than every two years.

So, my two years is up and I will be heading to hairdressers within the next couple of day.  Wish me luck!!

Talk about crazy weather!

Published by Kim under general, life

Gotta tell you all that I am so…looking forward to the day when winter is finally behind us!  All week last week the temperatures were bitterly cold and I spent the entire week wishing it would warm up.  Well I got my wish and it has warmed up a lot, but with the warmer temperatures, we are now getting hit with another major snowstorm.  Right now we are expecting 20 to 25 centimeters of snow with a lot of high winds.  Not fun!  Because of this storm, the kids are also home from school for the day.  But the cold temperatures are gone. lol

So although I had a lot of running around to do today, it looks like I’m housebound with two little kids.  I do have to confess though that if I had to take my pick between cold weather or all this snow, I would take the snow any day.  After all it isn’t me who needs to shovel.

My head hurts

Published by Kim under health

As I was growing up, I would hear of people talking about all the suffering they experienced when they were having one of their dreaded migraine headaches. Yes, I have experienced headaches in my life time, but never to the degree that other’s did. That was until I got a little older. Now I can say that I am one of the many that get these types of headaches on a regular basis. So when I feel a migraine coming on, I take a couple of my pills, go lay down in a dark room and just pray for this type of pain to go away. I always felt bad for people who experienced migraines, but now going through them myself, I can appreciate their suffering all the more. It’s not a very fun club to be a part of.

Quiet weekend on the way

Published by Kim under family, entertainment

Currently our outside temperature is at -23 degrees with a windchill factor at -33 degrees.  That is cold!!  And the weatherman isn’t  giving us much hope for the weekend.  Because it’s going to be bitterly cold all weekend, we are going to do absolutely nothing.  There is no way I want to do any activities this weekend that requires that I have to step outside.  So I am going to have to try to find something for the kids to do this weekend that requires them to stay indoors.  I know they won’t be really pleased with me when I inform them that they can’t go outside to play, but if I can come up with a fun activity for them to do indoors, I think they may possibly forgive me.

How about you guys?  What’s the weather like where your at?

I hate dial-up!

Published by Kim under blogging, Internet

I’ve got to tell you all that after being quite active on the Internet for the past couple of years, I have come to HATE my dial-up connection.  I have tried to talk my husband into going with high speed, but because he is so cheap, so far I am not having any success.

The main reason why he won’t go for the high speed Internet option is because he doesn’t want to pay for another hook up charge.  In the spring we are planning on selling our current home and buying a house.  So he doesn’t want to pay for a hook up charge when we will be moving shortly anyway and have to incur a hook up charge when we move.

I can see his point, but….having dial-up is really slowing my daily activities down.  So, if we don’t end up moving in the spring, I am getting high speed and I don’t care what he says about an extra hook up charge!!

Virtual Linking

Published by Kim under blogging, Internet

I don’t usually participate in tags or memes, but when one of the bloggers over at Entrecard tagged me with this virtual linking game, I figured why not, it sounded like fun! First of all I would like to thank Michael for tagging me. This is a great way to increase my traffic levels and I really hope you will agree.

Rule #1

Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an ” A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

1. A. acowboyswife.com
2. B. bloggingcents.com
3. C. caffeine-overload.com
4. D. delusionsofgrandeur.com
5. E. everythingandanythingblog.com
6. F. forumfinder.net
7. G. gotic-peach.net
8. H. happykeg.com
9. I. ipentimento.com
10. J. juliesjournal.com
11. K. kabalyero.com
12. L. ladylike4.com
13. M. michaelpark.net
14. N. notjustmama.net
15. O. originalmx5.net
16. P. patrickdevivo.com
17. Q. qweddings.com
18. R. rowdigrl.com
19. S. shirleysdelight.com
20. T. thinking-outloud.com
21. U. utada-online.net
22. V. valmg.com
23. W. wickedbabylon.com
24. X. xaviermedia.com
25. Y. yimto.com
26. Z. zbudapest.com

Replaced link: thesocalledme.net
Previous tagger: MichaelPark Dot Net
Rule #2

You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community. TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system.

As for me, I will tag the following:

informalcritique
socko
rantingsofawoman
momknowseverything
mydogskeepmesane

Rule #3

Just like any other “meme” out there, ask a question for your taggees to answer along with your own answer to your previous question. This is optional.

Here’s my question: Where do you get your inspiration for blog posts?

I’d love to be taller!

Published by Kim under health, life

I am only 5 feet 1 inch tall and I would love to be taller. But except for purchasing some platform shoes I don’t think my height is going to increase any time soon. Every time I see a tall woman, I get so jealous. I would love to be tall and thin like them. Other people have suggested to me that I should start wearing high heels, but there are two problems with this scenario. First of all, I’m not the type to walk around all dressed up in heels and second of all I have a very weak left ankle and past experience has taught me that wearing heels just isn’t worth the pain that I have to go through to achieve the look that I so desperately want. So, I guess I’ll have to put up with my current height and be happy that I’m at least over 5 feet tall. My mother wasn’t.

Tough Love

Published by Kim under life, kids

I honestly never thought that I would have to become one of these types of parents.  But after 8 months of being constantly lied to, I think it’s about time that I show my oldest son a little bit of “tough love”.  For the past 8 months he has been living on his own.  He is constantly e-mailing me (no, I don’t have a phone number or mailing address for him) and asking for money.  He has come up with all sorts of reasons why he needs this money and up until today I have been giving it to him.  But, the money well has run dry.

He e-mailed me today with a story about needing this money to come home for a couple of days.  The reason why I don’t believe this is because he gave me the same song and dance a couple of months ago and when I sent him the money, he didn’t come home or even give me an explanation why he didn’t come home.  So even though I would like to help him out, I honestly don’t have any more extra money to throw his way.  I guess he’s going to have to come up with something on his own.

Sightseeing Information

Published by Kim under family, entertainment

Years ago, when I was in high school, our class to a trip to Washington D C. It was probably the most memorable experience that I have ever had in my life time. Although I haven’t been back to that wonderful destination, I have thought a lot about that trip over the past years. I would have to say that my favorite part about my trip to Washington, was being able to see all the wonderful architectural buildings and getting a tour of the White House. I think the only thing that would have made this trip any more memorable would have been if I had of been able to meet the president himself.

If I was ever able to go to Washington DC again, I think I would enlist the services of Trusted Tours & Attractions for all my sightseeing tours. Not only can you have sightseeing tours arranged for you, but this company also specializes in setting up any type of entertainment activities that you would like to participate in while visiting another city. One of the neat features about this site, is if you sign up to their newsletter, you will also receive updated information about any specials they may be offering in the future. By signing up for their newsletter, you also have the opportunity to win a handheld GPS. So, if you are thinking about taking a trip anywhere in the USA, why not drop by this site and see how they can assist you in all your sightseeing needs.
