We could have a problem
My daughter really wants to join the violin and ukulele clubs. But, there could be a problem that we all kind of forgot about. She is left handed. And all of the musical instruments that they have in their school are made for right handed students. Last week she began ukulele in her music class and what the teacher did was get her to flip the instrument. This is fine for in class lessons, but I’m not sure how she will make out when trying to play it professionally. With the violin there isn’t this option. So, I have told her to discuss it with her teacher and we will see what she says. The shame of this all is that my daughter has been talking about the violin for the past couple of years and I know she will be really disappointed if she is unable to participate. But, hopefully the school or we can do something that will enable her to play.

I’m quite shocked that a school would have only left handed instruments.
As far as the ukulele is concerned, as well as flipping it get them to re-string it the other way round for her(that shouldn’t cause too many problems). Then if she wants to take her playing further and get a real left-handed instrument it’ll be set up the way she’s used to.
Good luck to your daughter. I hope she gets to learn the violin.
