Thinking Outloud

On Tuesday my husband’s father went out and got himself a dog.  The kids were so excited about this and wanted to go up right away to meet “Ruffles”.  So we went up Wednesday evening to meet this dog.  Unfortunately for the kids, they did not have a very good visit.  “Ruffles” had been abused by kids and when he seen my kids, to put it mildly, he was not happy to see them.  I felt so bad about this.  My father-in-law talked to his vet about this problem to see if there is anything he can do with the dog to get him to like the kids better.  The vet gave him some ideas and we will be going back up later today to see if the kids can bond with this dog.  I know it will take some time, but hopefully soon Ruffles will realize that it wasn’t these two kids that hurt him and that these two won’t hurt him.  So hopefully the dog and the kids will be able to bond.
