The trip to the dentist

My youngest son has been complaining about having a tooth ache so I made him an appointment and today was the day that he visited the dentist. To say that his trip was not a very pleasant one is putting it mildly. First of all his has an infected tooth so this is why he has been having his tooth ache. So they gave him antibiotics and he will need to take these for five days.

But, the worst news is that he needs to go for dental surgery. I feel so bad for him as he is only seven and I can just imagine the pain he is going to have to go through. He needs to get seven teeth filled and five pulled (for some reason he has no enamel on his teeth). The good thing is that right now he doesn’t completely understand what they are going to do to him so he at least doesn’t have to sit around for a couple of months worrying about all this. I get to do the worrying for him. I realize this is something he needs to have done to avoid further pain in the future, but it doesn’t make me feel any better for him.

Are they putting to sleep to do this? It’s the quickest and easiest way to do it. It all gets done at once and they don’t know that the dentist is pulling teeth out or using a drill in their mouth. Aidan just had it done and he’s great. I personally hate going to the dentist.
