Yesterday we went down to visit my husband’s parents. We try to go each Sunday and now that I’m not working, we haven’t missed a Sunday in over a month. The kids really enjoy seeing them and my husband’s parents love it when the kids come to visit. My husband has two sisters but they don’t seem them all that much so for them to be able to see us and our kids, it is very important to them.
Yesterday, like anyother day that we go to visit grampie started handed out presents to the kids. He gave my youngest son a set of domino’s and my daughter some girly magazines. The kids love to see their grandparents, but I think the presents kind of help as well.

My youngest son just loves playing vidoe games. He has a nintendo game cube and that was probably the best gift my husband and I could have bought him. He gets so excited when he plays and sometimes it’s quite difficult to play with him due to all this excitement. The other day he asked me to play a game with him and I thought why not. It was raining out so we couldn’t really do much so I figured I’d give it a go.
He is so….funny. When he’s winning, which he does a lot because he plays the games constantly, he starts dancing around and singing. At one point during the game when it was his turn, he turned over and looked at me and said “your going down woman!”. He is only six and I know that sounds quite saucy but he was only playing and getting right into the game. So although he can be a little annoying to play with I have so much fun playing with him because he is so….funny. Thankfully when I play with my daughter she is a little more reserved so I only have to put up with one annoying child at a time. lol

I have found the answers to my prayers. One of my goals in life before I depart this fine earth is to go on some sort of cruise. But because cruises can be so expensive, I thought this might have been a dream lost forever. Then I discovered a site at discoverycruise.com where I found that my dream may actually be able to come true.
When you enter this site you will see information about receiving a free day cruise on your birthday. No, I’m not kidding. This is really true. If you purchase a full priced adult day cruise to the Bahamas, they will give you a free pass on their cruise during the month of your birthday. So what this means to me is that my husband can purchase the ticket for himself and during the month of my birthday I can board for free. So you get two passes for the price of one. The cruise they are offering offers all the amenities of a longer cruise without the higher price tag. So, come on and set sail with them for half the price.

Gotta tell you all that this Internet business can get quite confusing and exasperating! Let me tell you of my latest adventure. Recently a blog of mine was accepted into a program but to participate in this program I needed to install a plugin from their site. I thought how hard can this be and tried to install it. Well for a computer nerd like myself, it was extremely difficult. After messing with it for a couple of days on my own, I needed to call in some re-inforcements. So, I sent out a plea for some help and Cynthia came to my rescue.
Well I gotta tell you that if this lady hadn’t come to my rescue, the frustration I was starting to feel would have probably put me in the nut house. I never thought anything could drive me crazier than my kids (lol), but the computer won this contest hands down. After many, many e-mails back and forth Cynthia put me on the right track. At one point I had my site so messed up that I was getting the dreaded “404″ error that it wasn’t even in the system. But thanks to her generosity of time and her over abundance of patience it got all sorted out.
So, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU!! to Cynthia and to beg her to never ever leave me alone with my computer again.

Many of you may not know this, but my dad passed away three years ago from lung cancer. He fought a good fight against it but unfortunately he lost in the end. After watching him struggle through this terrible disease, I have come to realize that no one should ever have to go through this kind of pain. This is why I am so sad today.
Yesterday one of my dad’s brothers told my husband that my dad’s youngest brother has just been diagnosed with lung cancer. One person in the family having to suffer through this terrible disease is bad enough, but two?? My uncle told my husband that my other uncle isn’t doing very well right now and the doctor’s don’t aren’t giving him much time. Of course I feel bad for him and his family, but the person I feel bad for is my grandmother. She is 85 now and she has already watched her oldest child go through this and now has to watch her youngest child go through the same ordeal.
So this plea goes out to all my friends out there. Please keep our family in your thoughts and hopefully my uncle will overcome this terrible disease and hopefully not suffer quite so much.

Well we got back from our latest camping trip and we all survived. This weekend was a much better weekend than last weekend for the kids. They were able to do everything related to camping this weekend without the rain. We had a bit of rain, but it didn’t “dampen” (lol) our plans. The kids were able to go swimming, play in the park, and roasted marshmellows. Because it was the long Canada weekend, they were also able to watch an amazing fireworks display.
Having gone on two camping trips now, it has been decided that our entire family really does enjoy camping. So, we have plans to do as much camping as we possibly can this summer and hopefully we will get one weekend with no rain what so ever. But, all in all I must say it was a wonderful weekend and fun was had by all.
