Another new friend

Published by Kim under blogging, friends

Part of the reason why I just love the blogging scene is because I have made so many new friends after starting this.  I have had a friend for the past six and half years.  We used to work together.  I knew of her sister, but not really well.  I certainly wouldn’t have called her a friend.  But, due to the blogging world, I have gotten to know her quite well and now consider her a friend.  Her sister had mentioned that she would like to try her hand at blogging so being the nice person that I am (lol), I offered to help her get started.  So, in between e-mails from one another concerning all aspects of blogging, we have gotten to know one another really well.  So, if nothing else, I am meeting and getting to know a lot of people that I wouldn’t otherwise had had the opportunity to get to know.

House buying fever

Published by Kim under home

I have been really interested in purchasing a home lately, have seen some properties and have been scouring the Internet for some local listings for a while now.  But, now two of my friends have sold their houses and have purchased others.  So, now I really have the house buying fever.  After hearing about these two different friends purchasing their dream homes, I have really kicked it in gear to declutter my house and to actually finish the renovations.  So, the push is really on now because of these two ladies and hopefully, after watching me for a while my husband will catch this fever as well.  Now that I’m not working any more, I will be able to get more accomplished so hopefully I will be the next friend to purchase a home.

My friend is moving

Published by Kim under friends

Sounds a little pathetic eh?  Well, you have to know me and know how hard it is to make friends.  I don’t have a whole lot of friends, but the ones that I do have I usually keep for life.  One of the other mothers down at the bus stop and I have become really good friends.  It took a while to develop this friendship.  This is why I am sad that she is leaving.  But, unfortunately in her husband’s line of work, they move around a lot.   But, at least we can still keep in touch via the Internet.  And who knows, like she says, maybe he will get transfered back.  But, until that happens, I would like to wish her all the good luck and happiness she can find at her new location.  And, I look forward to lots of e-mails and pictures of the kids especially of my little buddie “Blakie”.

Very disturbing

Published by Kim under blogging, work

Well, I just received some disturbing news from a fellow blogger.  Aparently one of the blogging companies that I work for has been involved with some fraudelent payments.  I’m not all together sure what it taking place with this company, but it sure doesn’t sound very promising.  The only good thing I can say is that I didn’t do a whole lot of work for them, so thankfully it shouldn’t affect my online income very much.  Right now as I don’t really know a whole lot about the situation, I will not post very much about this.  But, as soon as I become more informed, you will be the first to know.  I just hope this situation doesn’t turn into a free for all that affects other blogging companies that I currently work for.

Last day of the long weekend

Published by Kim under family, home

Today is the last day for the long weekend.  Tomorrow the kids go back to school and my husband goes back to work which means that I must start on my serious house cleaning tomorrow.  I have no excuses now as I am not working any longer so I will be home full time to try to get this house back on it’s feet.  The room I plan to start on is our bedroom and I plan to go completely through it from top to bottom.  I am actually looking forward to all this work as I know when I am finally finished, I can concentrate on other fun stuff such as crafting and hobbies.

So much to do

Published by Kim under home, work

I have decided that now that I’m not working, I am going to take my house apart room by room.  I plan to start with my bedroom as that is the most neglected room of the house.  I am going to go through all the clothes and throw away clothes that I haven’t worn in at least a year.  After I am all finished decluttering the room, I plan to paint and try to talk my husband into putting down new carpet.  As I have been working full time for almost seven years and taking care of my three children, the really heavy duty cleaning doesn’t normally get done.  But, I have no excuses now, so I plan to take the weekend off and start on this major project the first of the week.  I can’t wait unil it’s all finished so along with this and the renovations, we will be able to put the home up for sale.

I am unemployed now!

Published by Kim under family, life

Last night at 8:00 pm I was officially unemployed.  It has been a dream of mine to be able to stay at home with my children.  Now I have been able to do this.  I started at my job when my youngest was four months old and I have worked a lot of hours over the years.  I have missed out on so much fun with the children as I worked most weekends so we were unable to a lot of things as a family.  So, I knew I had to finally make a decision between the job and my kids and for once I chose the kids.  They are very excited that I’m not working any longer and I plan to make this summer the best one they ever had.  Maybe next summer I may be working again, or maybe not, but this year I plan to take the entire summer off and enjoy my summer for the first time in seven years.  It is a little scary as we will have less income coming in the house, but it’s also very exciting to anticipate what the summer has in store for me.

The countdown is on

Published by Kim under family, work

Well, after almost seven years at my place of employement in just five short days I will be finished.  I have decided to take a little time off (especially the summer) so I can devote more time to spending time with my family.  It was an extremely difficult decision to make as I have been there for a very long time.  I am a waitress at a very busy family restaurant, and I have met and got to know a lot of wonderful people during my time there.  When I finally made my decision and told my boss of my choice to leave, I was a little sad.  But, as the day of leaving fast approaches, it does get harder each day.  Last night, I told four different customers of my decision and two of them want me to let them know if I end up going anywhere else so they can follow me.  One customer gave me a hug.  So, it is because of these wonderful people that I do feel sorry that I’m leaving.  But, not sorry enough to stay.  For once the family has to come before the job and the children would be very disappointed if I told them I had a change of heart.  So, I will not be changing my mind, but it sure is difficult.  More difficult than I originally thought.
