The kids only have one month left of school and it looks like once again they are both going to pass so that means I’m going to have to come up with a couple of great grading presents here in the very near future. My daughter is almost 15 and super hard to buy for so I have to think quite a bit as to what I can purchase her. My son on the other hand is seriously into music these days so purchasing him a gift like music recording software at guitar center shouldn’t be a huge problem. He is not all that advanced in his music yet, but the way he is going, I’m sure he’ll be ready for this software quite soon. So… now all I have to do is think of something for my daughter and hopefully my grading present ideas can be laid to rest.

Right now we are in the middle of a long weekend here in Canada. The weather is kind of crappy but it’s time off from work and school so I guess it’s not that bad. We haven’t really been doing much this long weekend as both kids aren’t feeling real well but I’m hoping maybe later on today or tomorrow we can do something special. But if not, that’s okay as it’s nice just to have this time off from school lunches and homework.

After almost a year of being unemployed with no income coming in, I have found some employment. Years ago I used to work for a company doing transcription from home but because of my outside job I had to give it up due to time constraints. Well the other day just out of the blue I got an e-mail from them asking if I’d like to do some work for them. OF course I jumped at the chance as this means some pretty good income coming in. Now with this extra cash I will be able to looking into buying things like avid pro tools from musicians friend for my son. The little luxuries in life like these kind of had to be put on the back burner this last year. But now with this extra income coming my way I can start purchasing musical equipment for my son once again.

Man… I am super excited. In two days time it will be my birthday (no, that’s not why I’m excited). Well last night my husband asked me where I would like to go for a birthday supper. So I told him and he is going to take me to my favorite restaurant. The exciting part…. well we haven’t been out together without the kids since December. So this is why I’m excited. Life around here is pretty dull so knowing I’m going to go out for a little while has kind of perked up my day. So… I guess I’ll finish my articles on finding the best cigar deals and then just wait patiently for my big night out.

Holy smokes, where has the time gone? Normally I find time seems just to drag on but not this year. I can’t believe it’s May first already! The kids have been in school for over nine months now and only have about seven weeks left. That doesn’t give me much time to get things done before they are home for their summer holidays. But it will be nice to not have to worry about projects like designing national pool tile like my son told me at the last minute that he had to do, or to worry about running around to debate and Reach for the Top tournaments for my daughter. So for the next seven weeks I’m going to try to get everything done that needs to be done while their in school and then I’ll be able to enjoy the nice long summer with them. But by the way time has been flying by, these next seven weeks will surely seem to fly by as well.

Well I guess I won’t be looking for a new job anytime soon. Yesterday I had an appointment to see how well I was healing after my dental surgery and apparently I’m not healing very well. So I now have to wait another six weeks to see if I’ve healed properly to finish this particular dental procedure. I’m quite frustrated with this turn of events but there is really nothing I can do about it. So I guess I’ll just keep doing what I’ve been doing and hope and pray that in six weeks this dental nightmare will be finally over.

Well I was out of commission for a little while. Last week I had to have some major dental surgery so I wasn’t feeling the best for a few days and really didn’t do a whole lot of anything. But I’m feeling 100% better now so here I am. For the past week I’ve just been laying around and trying to get better. I still have stitches and am a little sore but I really am feeling much better. So because I essentially took a week off from life, I have a lot of work to catch up on. Plus I need to start looking for a job again. But… since I’m feeling pretty good right now I’m sure I’ll get everything done that needs to get done.

Here it is April 5th and we are expected to get snow. Oh… I know it won’t stay but honestly when is spring really going to arrive?? Right now we are experiencing winter like temps outside and are expected to get some snow. I thought spring was already here but I guess I was wrong. Yeah, I know I complain about winter a lot but for some reason this year winter seems to have gone on forever. So goodbye winter and hello spring hopefully soon.

Although it is our Easter weekend here in Canada, I decided I needed to start my spring cleaning. Yesterday I started clearing out the bathroom and honestly couldn’t believe all the stuff I found. Obviously didn’t find any l’artisan fragrance or things like that, but I found a lot of outdated creams and lotions that I decided to throw away. Now I have tons of room in my cupboards to fill up with other stuff. After I’m finished with the bathroom I’m going to clean out the spare room. I wonder what I’ll find in there?!
